PMSers Unite!

 Morning!

Teva- Congratulations! He is such a cutie pie!

Well, we made it home from Tennessee last night. It seemed to take forever! Had a great time though visiting with his mom and his little niece and nephews. They have all gotten so big!

So, for those who may have read a blurb on Facebook, my husband has accepted a new job. It's in the same field (fiber optics) except this time he is working for a company that contracts for the military. He does each job contract by contract, so he can choose whether to accept or not as they come along.
For his first one, he leaves this Tuesday and will be gone 3-4 months. This particular job is in Kuwait! He doesn't get any leave time with this contract but if he stays on for the next one, which is 8 months, then that would total a year commitment so he will get a month off, divided up any way he wants. They will also fly him wherever he want to go. So if we want to meet in Italy for a week, we can. ;) I also have the option of going with him and live over there as well. Right now I don't plan to, but if he stays on, who knows.....
The pay is outstanding, plus they put him up in an apartment, give him a vehicle and pay all the gas. The only thing he'll need to buy is food and fun, although he can eat at the dining facilities on base for free if he wants. All the work is done on the base. It's a great opportunity that will open a lot of doors and we can pay off all our our debt and start socking money away. Guess that's one benefit to having an empty nest, we can do such things. ;)

The only hard part of course will be him being away but I'm sure the time will fly by. Aaron and his girlfriend (soon to be DIL!) will be staying with me until the end of October, then they plan to go back north so I will be by myself here, unless of course they change their minds and decide to stay. :wizard:

So, tons to do over the next few days to get him ready to go.....

:scared1: are you in the valley???
I am in the mountains so we are good. However it appears we are trapped. The bridge to the left is about 5 feet underwater and 92 is closed.

Wow, sounds like eye contact may be unavoidable :scared1:

Well, we are trapped at this point. NO way to the left or right. Eye contact huh :scratchin:

How many drinks have you had?

What a GREAT IDEA~~~~~~~~~~

I am cleaning. M and I are heading down the road to bring home anyone that wants to stay. I would be fibbing if I didn't say I had to walk away from the continuous coverage, I started crying.

How are you ?!

:woohoo: Congrats to him! Stinks he has to be so far away, but sounds like the pay is worth it.:grouphug:

 It is getting bad here too. Almost all the bridges are flooded out and it seems like it will get worse. I will feel MUCH better once the kids get home from school, as both of their busses go right along the creek. It looks like Brian won't make it home from work tonight, either, but he is only a couple blocks from the Marriott, so at least he has somewhere warm and dry to stay. I'd actually feel better if he just went straight there instead of trying to get home and then getting stuck.

Welcome Baby Joey. Congrats Teva. We must not be FB friends b/c I have yet to see the little cutey.

Family started arriving yesterday for the big event. More coming in today. Gonna have a BBQ here at the house for about 40 people. House is scrubbed shiny clean and now I just wait for the invasion.

Ceremony is tomorrow morning and then it is party time. Woo hoo!!

Of course, found out that the hotel had some water damage from the tropical storm last weekend. They are telling me that all will be well for tomorrow night. Fingers crossed.
