Holy Crap!!!! The AG hobby is super expensive, I had no idea. They never really became popular here while Rebecca was still that young. Glad you got your deals!!

Princess, the doobie thread?! :rotfl:

I guess Luv is reacquainting herself with her men. I am so happy for her :teeth:

Tonight will be night 2 that Rebecca is over a friends house and I just want to go swimming with her :guilty: How dare she grow up!

That is a lot of shopping! I am way too selfish though and I think I'd only shop that way for myself.
This weekend I didn't even let myself go into the Gymborree or Childrens place (there may have been a Gap Kids too...). Now I am kind of regretting it though. The kids could use some new clothes. But I wanted to only think of myself. :teeth:

You are all so sweet.... Chuck and Froggy... this may be TMI for you... sorry guys!!!

I'm ok, just sore... hard to sit, more than anything. So, I've been walking a lot! My Dr. is pretty convinced that all will be fine! I've had cells on my cervix that were abnormal since I got pregnant with Noah. They didn't do any testing while pregnant, of course... but they started within a month or so of me having him. They have removed the bad cells several times and tested, retested.... and I had a good 2 years with a good pap smear, so I thought all was good. The Dr. said as long as it stays clear I'm in the "clear", unless... X... happens. Well... I found ...X... about a month ago. Scared me to death... went for testing, it was ok but not great and he did a biopsy, that was negative on one sample but he still wanted to remove all the other cells and lumps. That process has been going on for the last month and today was the second procedure but he thinks he got everything this time! :dance3:

Thanks to everyone for the warm wishes. It truly means the world to me that this is such a warm place to hang out. :grouphug:

Shug, did I take your post about side effects wrong on the doobie thread? :rotfl2:

Julie, I loved it when my DD was into the American Girls when she was younger. She had (still has, actually) a Molly doll (had to get that one first, since she is a Molly also), and then later an Addy doll. The Girl of Today stuff was just starting to come into play when she was starting to grow out of it, so we managed to avoid most of that. Not that there's anything wrong with the Girl of Today, I just really love the historical dolls and their stories.

We did a homeschool co-op project one year with a couple of other families, using a curriculum that was based on the American Girls (at that time there were only Felicity, Addy, Kirsten, Samantha, and Molly). There was a unit based on America at the time of each of the 5 girls, and we did all sorts of activities based on different school subjects during each unit, as well as taking some field trips. It was so, so much fun - one of the fondest memories of our homeschooling years.

:grouphug: Kimmielee.
I have had the same thing after having ds. I hope they got everything and the soreness goes away soon.

Speaking of Gymboree, look at this outfit I ordered the other day for Miss Ainslee Skye, soon-to-be Birthday girl. I thought the cherry line was so cute. That new plum line is cute too.

Ok, so up until recently, my Dh's trash picking habit embarassed me. Every day he's pawing through the dumpster looking for treasures. Most of the time it's crap that's there for a reason. Sometimes though, he fishes out a real gem in the rough. Like this:
cabinet1.jpg

It needs a little work, new shelves and back, needs the hutch nailed on, maybe a paint job, maybe not I haven't decided. I love this. It's exactly what I've needed and it's just my style. Between the dumpster and the Re-Store(Habitat for Humanity thrift store that has all building supplies) my house is coming along great!

Oh my Shug, your hubby and my family MUST be related. My Dad and Brothers will pick up anything from the side of the road. My uncle, used to stop at all discarded refridgerators and take out the LIGHT BULB!!!!

There is a new show you must get your hubby to watch (forgive me if anyone posted already, I'm not up to speed...) it's on HGTV and it's called JUNK BROTHERS. They literally go find stuff on the side of the road, fix it up and return it to the original owner all shiny and new! It looks like a good show, right up his alley! :thumbsup2

Ok, outta here to go get Noah. I'm SOOOO excited. I stopped at Meijer to get a prescription for pain meds filled (not as strong as Shug's so no translating needed for me) and while waiting I wandered over to Toys and guess what I found?

All 7 characters for the POTC2 for Noah!!! The complete set!! :dance3: They are in my trunk... can I hold out for his birthday in October or do I give them to him now? I'm HORRIBLE at keeping surprises.... :rolleyes1

I'm more than half way through my day and I just can't shake the mood I'm in. I just hate when my day starts out crappy and doesn't improve. Little things are annoying me today for no reason other than I feel the need to be annoyed.
My son Zack (4) is taking a second set of swimming lessons and they just started today. I love the boy, he is darling but man does he have a loud voice. Let me see if I can set the mood for the story of what my son did to embarrass me today. The pool is full of darling little girls and boys already to learn about the turtle float, their parents are sweating around the pool with glazed eyes, it is pretty quiet when you realize how many people are there. My son announces with his booming voice that his swim trunks have fallen down. There is laughter from the parents, but I'm not too embarrassed yet. His teacher helps him pull his suit up and he announces again in the voice that needs no megaphone that he thinks he suit fell down because he farted in the pool (he is his father's son, I have no idea where he gets this stuff from). I have now crawled under my chair and have decided to die right then and there. After the lesson, one of the kids Dad's congratulated me on raising a son who is all boy- yea that's great, thanks alot. The kid is driving me nuts  .

edited because, I'm so embarrassed that I can't spell embarrassed.

Kimmie, I hope they got everything and you have "clear" check-ups from now on. Sounds like a pain in the "nevermind", however.

I am overdue for a pap, so feel free to nag me to make an appt.

Get an appointment T&A! I have been known to nag and nag and nag until the deed is done. You may as well just get it over with so you don't have to deal with the nagging. :teeth:

Bonnie, yep, I am going to Yellowstone. Really psyched about it. We won't be going as far south as Jackson Hole, though someday I am sure we will. This won't be our last trip there. We are doing a small unit study on it in August. (We start school in mid Aug after the kids do VBS the first week and I get ready for it.) Should be fun. I have one son who is an animal nut and the other already did a big unit study on volcanoes while DD was doing one on rocks so we will be able to build on that which is really fun. A friend tells me I need to get a book called "Who Pooped in the Park?" We'll see about that one! :rotfl:

Briar--I have to say I was quite disappointed about not having shopping for myself more available. I was under the impression that we would be doing that much more on Sat afternoon, but we met a friend of my friend's family for a late lunch and then went to her uncle's for a couple of hours. I did also manage to find a really awesome big canvas bag at Land's end that I love. I can't say how disappointed I am not to have found some new shoes. Actually, you of all people would probably understand.

Angel--Holy Crap about sums it up. DD is really awesome though about realizing how expensive it all is. Getting another doll is about the furthest thing from her mind as she simply pours over the AG catalog when it comes and knows what they cost. That is what will make it really fun giving it to her for Christmas. She will be shocked. :wizard:

Redshoes- That sounds like something my friends sons would do and they are 12, 10 and 5. :rotfl:

redshoes, :rotfl2: Very funny when it's not my own child!

Jake has done more to embarrass me in his 6 years than my other 4 kids combined. Just his personality and I can't do much about it. There have been so many times that I have wanted to crawl under a rock.

On Sunday morning during the baseball tournament weekend we were sitting at the hotel eating the free breakfast. My 6yo, Jake got confused because one baseball team boy was there with his mom, who is divorced and her boyfriend (I guess fiance). I wasn't at the table, but one of the other moms was explaining the relationship to Jake since Jake asked who he was (usually Joey's dad is the one who is at the games and Jake doesn't really know the mom, much less her friend). Jake looked at Joey and the couple and asked Joey if he kisses his mother's boyfriend. :rotfl: Guess that was Jake's measure of love. He just says whatever is on his mind and I'm hoping he will outgrow it soon.

Besides dreading medical appointments, I'm also a procrastinator in making appointments and I also hate making phone calls in general, so a triple whammy. If I could schedule online I would be better off. I really don't have a lot of hang-ups, but this is one.

I completely understand!!! I was recently done and got a visit from my Dr with flowers to let me know I was fine but we have a standing date every few months for a couple of years now. It was scary beyonf belief! :grouphug:

Don't worry, Kate, your time is coming. Before you know it, he'll be a teenager, and you'll have one opportunity after another to embarrass him waaaaay more than he ever embarrassed you!

So are ya all ready to hear about my shopping weekend extravaganza? I will skip the shopping involved on Friday (but that is when I found the jackets for DH and I at Land's End ON clearance....yay!) Sat morning we got up at 6:30, left the hotel within the hour and got to the warehouse by a bit before 8, our tickets were for 8:15. We got in pretty much on time. (They can only allow a certain number of people inside at a time so sometimes, especially as the day goes on, they are running behind the time on the tickets.) It was wildly crowded. I found a doll, one of the ones I was considering for DD and it was wearing a different outfit than they usually wear. Considering that the outfits are easily $20, that was a bonus. After picking my doll, I wandered down to the area where the doll clothes were. Holy mackeral, that was crowded. I got the outfit DD was hoping for for her dolll and well, just a few more. It was appallingly hot in the warehouse and it is huge and filled with AG stuff. I did some wandering, some feeling pretty overwhelmed, got some great bargains and got a few things that after we got to the hotel I went "WTH was I thinking???" The 9 pairs of doll shoes fall into the latter category! :rotfl:

All in all, I got DDs Christmas dress, her First communion dress, three outfits (one of which MATCHES the one that the doll is wearing. YOu have no idea how excited I am about this.) Also got a set of jammies, a doll hair care book and kit, a bed with trundle, the outfits for the doll and doll herself and tons of books. If you have seen the AG books in the stores, they are usually $6-$10 each and they were $3 a piece so I picked up a lot for bday party gifts. We were in there for a bit over two hours and when we all went over our purchases, there were TONS of things the others had gotten that I hadn't even seen. Next year, I will NOT be buying the doll clothes as they are just not that much of a bargain, really. I will plan to buy more girl clothes as they were a steal. (The dresses I mentioned before were each $18 and had been priced originally at $70 each.) And most of all NO SHOES!!!

I have never been so hot in my life or seen so many people spending so much money. Truly it was amazing. There were people buying 10 dolls. Heck, my friend's mom bought 5! They are an average of $50 each. Of course retail, they would have been $90, but still! You sign a thing saying you agree not to sell things on ebay, but I am sure some of those people must be.

The line to pay by credit card was at least 150 people long. I was soooooo glad I was paying by check because I got to go past all of them and pay. I would have been waiting at least half an hour longer if I was using my card.

We did more shopping in cutesy little stores that afternoon, went out to breakfast the next day which was the longest effort to eat breakfast I have ever experienced and then came on home. :moped:

Oooo I've been waiting for your post. Sounds like so much fun. Go ahead just rub it in. Some of us got to go to Walmart this weekend to shop, I know you're jealous. Are the dolls and outfits for Christmas, or something else. I'm a bad Mom when it comes to things I'm excited to give to them, I have to wait until right before a big holiday or event or I just blow it and give it to them early.

Just do it. Tomorrow morning I expect to be told when your appt is. :thumbsup2
