I watched Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightly recently and fell in LOVE with that story. Now, I'm convinced I need to read every Jane Austen novel.... :rotfl2:

I'm glad you're okay. That must have been scary for you. :grouphug:

Speaking of Pride and Prejudice, have you seen the A&E verson with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle? It's my all-time favorite movie.

I swear Bonnie, you have a pic for everything! How do you find them and post them so darn fast???? You rock! :thumbsup2 (That was whispered, by the way - not yelled!)

I only recently learned how to post pics. So now I'm a picture-postin' fool!

BB, your wake up message reminded me of a guy I knew in college. Actually, this was at a conference center in the mountains where I worked in the summers during my college years. Anyway, first thing in the morning, when all the girl staffers were coming out of the dorm on their way to breakfast, he would hide behind a stone wall that was at the bottom of the steps (the steps split and came around both sides of this little wall at the bottom), and would jump out at the girls, holler "Mornin, Glory!" in his extreme Southern accent, and try to grab them for a kiss on their way by.

He got a lot of this in return:

This guy sounds like a lotta fun. You'll have to introduce me sometime. ;)

Thanks Bonnie! The scariest part for me... is the fact that Noah's Dad is no where to be found. If (Lord forbid) something were to happen to me, I worry most about Noah. I have an appointment in early August with a lawyer to set up custodian rights for him with my niece and her husband (they are 30) so I can relax about that part.

That A&E version is the next one to be sent to me in my Netflix queue. I can't wait! It should be here by Friday. I love, love, love Colin Firth.... that man is so tall and handsome...

A sneak preview. . .

He's my favorite actor. Mainly because of this role in P&P.

Did y'all notice that the label says "best before drinking", but it's a hangover cure? I guess maybe the idea is you drink, get the hangover, take this stuff, and then start drinking again to forget about the hangover :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Okay, I'm back. My disaster is becoming smaller and smaller. I hate it when I'm clumsy (seems to happen alot lately). However, I emailed my husband and whined about the whole affair and he has decided that take-out is in order for dinner tonight. Hmm, maybe I should create these little accidents more often :) . Sounds like everyone had an exciting weekend. I'm sorry about the hangovers and dehyrdation. Shug, I hope that you're feeling better soon. T&B- wow, the bleacher accident sounds a little bit hazardous. I'm glad everyone is doing okay. How did Zach do in the tournment?
Chuck- no traveling today? What are the plans for the week? LiteBrite, How is the decision about your DD living in the dorms coming? BB, I've been reading your tea party thread, I just haven't come up with anything witty to say there yet, ya'll look like you're having fun.
I'm still catching up, so if I missed anyone give me a moment and I'll get back to you.

I had never read the novel when I went to see the latest P&P with Kiera Knightly. I fell so in love with Mr. Darcy that I had to read the book. Then I read the sequel. If you love trashy bodice ripper historical romances and you love P&P you have to read them! They are Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife and Darcy and Elizabeth, both written by Linda Berdoll. I found them at Barnes and Noble. Trashy, trashy reading but good stuff. I have the first one just laying around if anyone is interested I'll send it off to you. The BBC version is the one I just sent back to Netflix today. It was of course more in depth than the Kiera Knightly version but each had it's good points. I liked Matthew Macfayden's Darcy better. He's sexy as all get out. But really, Colin Firth's Darcy seemed more true to the book. I think because he had more time to flesh out the character, 6 hours as opposed to 2. The story was better in the BBC but the characters were better in the latest. Hard to say which was better overall.

Chuck, I would think the "memo" would be more your Dw's speed than yours :rotfl: I doubt I'll be in MS before late fall.

Here's another DM story for you all:

On Thursday night about midnight I heard my mother in the kitchen and I could tell she was taking medication. Friday morning she was complaining about having a migraine, she was so sick and dizzy. Yet she went into the kitchen and was slamming the lid to the freezer and the microwave. While I'm at work I get a call from her telling me she is going to the hospital, she is really sick and has been throwing up. I was leaving work early to take my DN home to VA and I get home to find her laying in the middle of the floor, curled up. I go up and ask her what is she doing and she tells me she can't walk. I ask her about going to the hospital and she tells me she didn't call her friend to take her and that she doesn't need to go. Several minutes later she is running around the house trying to find my DN dress she had hung up to dry and telling me she feels so much better, she doesn't know why she was so sick. I find out from my Dsis the medication I heard her taking was the Endocet she had for her back and she basically overdosed herself. :sad2: No wonder she didn't go to the hospital, she works there and that would have been a hard one to explain.

I used to be able to post pics without a problem, but the last several times I've tried (same way as before, using the mountain looking icon) it just gives me a link. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. :(

redshoes, Zach did ok in the tournament. Didn't hit real well (hit, but didn't get on base a lot), but I think leaving his baseball stuff at home kind of discombobulated the boy for the first game at least. All in all he did ok, but the team was so-so. But they had so much fun together at the hotel, etc.

I'm happy to say that I didn't get a hangover this weekend. I did get a migraine from the drinks, but 1/2 a drink would do that. Took my meds and woke up fine. I do know why I don't do this party stuff too often, however. I can't take staying awake even semi late when I have to wake up the next morning (and in a hotel when one person wakes up, everyone is awake).

Hi Shugardrawers. Do you mean to tell me that in the sequels they actually speak of s*x? Where does the first sequel begin? The wedding night?

redshoes: You are always welcome on the tea party thread! You don't have to say anything witty. Just post a pic of a donut or something and everyone will be glad you came. :thumbsup2

Ok, so up until recently, my Dh's trash picking habit embarassed me. Every day he's pawing through the dumpster looking for treasures. Most of the time it's crap that's there for a reason. Sometimes though, he fishes out a real gem in the rough. Like this:
cabinet1.jpg

It needs a little work, new shelves and back, needs the hutch nailed on, maybe a paint job, maybe not I haven't decided. I love this. It's exactly what I've needed and it's just my style. Between the dumpster and the Re-Store(Habitat for Humanity thrift store that has all building supplies) my house is coming along great!

 Yes, most graphically! Lots and LOTS of  Remember, the sequels were not written by Jane Austen. They were just written in the last 5 years or so. Mr. Darcy takes a Wife began with their engagement.

This is me trying to make all the decisions waiting for me:

Right now we're leaning towards letting her live in the dorm. We'll be deciding for sure in the next day or two (or three or four), assuming I don't turn into this in the meantime: :joker:, or possibly just chuck the whole thing and pull one of these: :moped:

Hmm. I may need to look in to these. I could use some good trash.

I'm home from my procedure... this time I hope he got it all. The cells and lumps he took last time did come back as negative  - but there were 6 spots that he had to do again. :bitelip: Other than being sore.... I'm ok. I'm "working from home" ... can ya tell? :surfweb: :lmao:

It's hotter than blazes here... 98 today. Our record is 101. I HATE this part of summer. Why am I going to Chicago in August??? Maybe I should put it off until fall when it's not so horribly hot... maybe my birthday weekend since I'll be the big 4-5 this time? Hmmmm.....
Kimmie I am so sorry I missed this :grouphug:
