DD threw up in school today. This is the only day she has gone all week. They did not call me.

And you are complaining? She throws up in school then they have to clean it up!

Paige, it's Friday! Don't the kids deserve an extra recess and maybe a movie time or something? To help everyone deal with the extra kids?

WHAT? EXTRA recess??????? Movies as a reward?????? Are you nuts? HOW will that help to pass the state tests? WHERE are the academic objectives in these activities???? We must persevere. If there are 40 children in a classroom, then we TEACH 40 children the things they need to know that will be tested! Things that can be measured! Things that are objective and solid and research based! With proven methods! And in sequential order! And everyone will learn it at the same rate! And no one will be left behind!

Well I did think about that when I posted. But I figuring that you could say Bite Me for one afternoon! An early Christmas present (to yourself!)


Okay, can you find an educational movie? Say you are studying consumerism and it's effects on what kids ask for from Santa by watching a Disney movie?

Take them outside for recess but make them come over and recite subtraction facts every 5 minutes? Say they are pretending to be molocules in a highly excited state? Gravity testing on the slide? Perpetual motion tests? Ask them which muscle groups they are using?

Oh BOMB, one other thing...staterooms have started opening up on the Eastbound Panama Canal cruise. There were some on the website yesterday (I missed it). They are gone now, but it seems to me that if they are appearing on the website, the wait list has been cleared. You may want to keep your eye on it.
