I don't know how to text. I'm lucky I can handle a keyboard.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last week....my aunt had a biopsy on a cyst that changed shapes on Monday....the whole family was kind of bracing itself for a double whammy. Thankfully, my Aunt is ok.

My migranes are varried. I have what I call "headaches" which are niggling pains behind my left eyebrow that go on for about a week. Feels like someone grinding a mortar on a pestle. Then I have the full fledged migranes...spots in my vision, can't take any sound or movement without excruciating pain, throw up, etc.... Luckily I only get one or two of those a year. All I can do is sleep those off...dark room, cold cloth on the eyes, zero noise.

Going on 2 weeks now. bad pain behind the eyes and acros the back of my head. I've been on Midrin and he just started me on Amerge today. Still no better. I'm thinking a bottle in fromt of me insted of a frontal lobotomay wold suffice.

So here is tonight's banquet update: (aren't you all glad I have this to whine about)

So when I was asked to just ORGANIZE this it was on the NO PROBLEM, easy plan.

1. Rent the school
2. Call the Caterers we usually use.
3. Throw up a few cheap decorations left over from all the other ones.

So here is what has happened so far:

1. School rental fee has DOUBLED--can't afford it. Have to do it at the pool which means we need to find free tables and chairs and tents. PIA

2. Can't afford the caterers. Fundraising has been bad this year, so we have basically no budget. And also found out no one really liked their food anyway (I thought it was just me )

3. Having it at the pool means LOTS more decor to be done and the coach wants a totally new theme anyway. That means $$$$--see #2--no budget.

4. I call the place we get our helium tank from. Get it there every year. "We have always done it that way". NO PROBLEM They don't rent Helium tanks anymore as of a few months ago Have to find a new place.

5. Search high and low for a food option we can afford (can't do potluck, lazy arses at the pool refuse to throw beanie weanies in a crockpot). Fazoli's gives me their catering menu and prices are GREAT! Everyone is happy. I do the deal with them 2 weeks ago. Go in today to finalize things and talk to the store General Manager instead of the other Manager I was working with.

She informs me that all the prices on the Catering Menu THEY GAVE ME--are WRONG. BY ABOUT HALF. I have based my entire budget on those prices. I sold the tix. to the banquet on those prices.


NO WAY in hell am I paying what she is telling me she has to charge me. Flat out can not afford it. I am about to have a heart attack. Wondering if I can make huge pots of spaghetti and pans of lasagna from Costco at home for 200 in time for the banquet. I want to puke.

We stonewall for a few minutes while I inform her that I am very sorry that there was a miscommunication but I did everything correctly on MY part and that this is her problem. She finally agrees to go ahead and give me everything but the lasagne at the cheaper prices. She is probably basically dontating about $500 worth of food to us.

I don't even want to know what is going to go wrong next. I am on my way upstairs to watch TV and cut out 50 paper flip flops for the no budget centerpieces.

AND I AM DRINKING!!!!

Nothing but the original quoted price is acceptable. This is why I don't like Fazolis. We're only going to Mt Vernon for 1 night, want me to crash your party drunk as a skunk Sunday?

Lara-good news on your Aunt and I hope the news will be encouraging for your mom!

DM3- thankfully I haven't had a real bad migriane in some time. When I have a big one mine mimic strokes. Left side paralysis slurring words, etc. Those suck! The ones I've had lately are just painful behind the eye and vision changes. Although my family isn't convinced my last one wasn't a stroke since even after 5 years I still have prblems with the left side of my face.

just by, went back to the store tonite for my school things for my DD, and time to crash, have to be up at 4:30

LTS -- what a nightmare! -- that is why I learned a long time ago, ------ I KNOW NOTHING!!! no knowing how to make platters, floral arrangement etc, etc, etc (and my aunt owns here own catering business and my cousin has a floral shop ) learned that one a LONG time ago

I've never done the tour, either. I'd love to do any of them and the only one I've done was the Segway tour and I did that twice. Lots of fun.
