DM3, I think Aimee's idea is a good one. I can't imagine a grandparent allowing their grandchildren to live under those conditions but then again I can't imagine a parent doing those kinds of things. If that isn't possible there are shelters but she'd have to be willing to leave pretty much everything behind. I think at minimum she and the kids should go to counseling.

1P2P, I know I have to call and make an appt. I should have gone back in the fall but had to cancel more than 1 appt for various reasons. Right now I'm actually looking for a new GYN since we moved pretty far from my old one. In the meantime I'm going to make an appt with our family dr. He can take care of the routine stuff. BTW, I feel the love :flower3: .

I just put the kiddos down. Man, they have been driving me nuts lately...I am feeling like a bad mommy...

Why are we new friends?

I'm helping Jake with homework. I'll be on when he's in bed and my mood improves.

I had a hard time letting that one go! Must not get points! :rotfl2:

I'm disappointed in you all! I gave you gold!
What you tried to give us were points. :sad2:

I'll get you points my pretty.

I'm going to cuddle with dh for a bit. Please don't let me fall asleep. I want to pui tonight.

And by cuddle I mean getting him to rub my back before he leaves for work.

I just got here so I don't know. But if someone opens a box just let me in. I may not be here, I have to go check on the soup and if it's ready make dinner. But I'll be back.

Sorry sweety you're not my type. :rolleyes1

What 'bout me??????

:furious: My DH comes home from the incoming 9th grade meeting at the high school and asks Zach if he wants to keep taking Spanish...he knows how important I think it is, doesn't talk to me about it first, knows what a big mistake I think it is that Alyssa stopped taking it, knows how good it is that Ben has continued with it, but blurts that out to Zach, anyway. He told me that there's Russian, Latin, etc, etc offered. I said that's fine as long as he also continued in Spanish. Zach did say that he wants to continue, but I know that he doesn't want to continue for long from what he's told me before, so I already have an uphill battle. Ben did go through a period when he wanted to quit and I know that he will encourage Zach to continue, so at least I have that. And the thing is, we all just had a long conversation very recently about how important Spanish can be in almost any job and of all languages it's really the one that makes sense to continue with and my DH totally agreed. Is his memory really that sucky? So frustrating!

Paige, honey, I'll let you in MY box anytime. ;)

That sucks. Men can be so dense. I'm having a struggle with Bryan and the Spanish thing. He wants to do French in high school instead of Spanish, and I've been encouraging Spanish because we live in an area where the population has a huge percentage of Hispanic people. It's a tremendous inconvenience to not know at least basic Spanish.

My DH tells him he should take whatever he wants, because he shouldn't have to learn Spanish just because people who speak different languages don't want to learn English, etc, etc.

It's going to be a real battle when he starts doing his high school scheduling.

I really wouldn't be against adding another language, but switching just seems silly to me. What good would the two years of the language really do Zach if he were to switch? And why not discuss this with me first since he knows how I feel? Idiot is the nicest word that I can think of right now. I suppose that I should have gone to the meeting.
