Anyone on this board suffers from PMDD? I feel so alone at time with dealing with this!
I get so out of whack a week or 2 before my monthly! I take larazopam to help me when I need it. However I hate having to take it!

Anyone who suffers from PMDD and is on some sort of meds for it what do you take?
Just wondering if I should get on YAZ that is meant to help PMDD! But my sink is broken so I dont need the Birth Control part!

I wish I could help. I took Yaz before, because of mood swings and also some other PMS stuff. We don't need BC, and when the Yaz started making me sick to my stomach I had to stop.

So, I have thought about taking an antidepressant instead to see if it would at least help with my moods. Does it help you alot? I didn't think the Yaz helped enough, but I had a hard time taking it consistently so maybe that is why.

In my case I take Yaz (well a generic equivalent) and it has worked WONDERS for me. I was on a different form of the pill and I would become an absolute basket case right before my period. I would cry at the drop of a hat for no reason at all and the crying spells could last for hours, it was horrible (thank goodness for DH that he stuck around and held me and got me Kleenex). So my doctor switched me to Yaz and it's almost a complete 180 degree difference. Plus it works well for keeping my period regular so I know when Aunt Flo is coming to visit.

The lorazepam does help! I just hope I don't have to be on them for the rest of my god giving life! What I hate about being on this med is that my Dr wont prescribe it to me unless I see a Shrink, cause of it being an antidepressant! He's a Royal PIA IMO! And My shrink says she has no clue why I come cause there is nothing she can do! I think I'm going to have her write a note and take it to my OBGYN not my Family Dr! Hes and horses BUTT!! Oh I can't wait till my other Dr comes back from Maternity leave! I miss her!

I've been dealing with these extreme mood changes since my youngest son! My moods can go from sad to getting upset and angry at the smallest stuff!

have any of you find when going thru your mood changes and have a crying fit that after having that good cry you feel so much better! It seems that after I cry and let it all out I feel so much better! Until My boys start to fight with each other and the Anger kicks in! LOL Seems like loud unnecessary noises like screaming and fighting drive me even more nuts when I'm going thru my PMDD Mood! It is like the noise is rattling my brain! Crazy and hard to explain!
I wish there was meds that was just meant for this disorder!
I was thinking about trying something more natural!! Like st john Wort! wonder if that really works! Well its worth a shot! LOL

My daughter takes seasonique bc and zoloft for pmdd. She also has PCO. These 2 meds have been a miracle for her.
