I'm thinking of doing a Phantom Manor sampler but as I've never ridden the thing [too chicken to ride by myself!] I'm a bit lacking for ideas. So, here's a question for any braver souls than I,...when you think about PM, what things come to your mind - after the singing busts of course. Is there anything that particularly says Phantom Manor?

Have you looked at some of the videos on youtube? It always amazes me how people get some of these done so well, i barely remember to get my camera out for important moments  I like the ride boarding hall on PM and the grave stones outside x

the singing heads are great....also the dancing ghosts in the ballroom are brilliant. we love this ride and can't wait to do it at halloween :yay:

I think the dancing ghosts would be great. I've found a couple of online photos that look fab so I'll have to try and include them. I already have the four busts in cross stitch so they are definitely going in and I am hoping to include one of the verses from their song as part of the design. I plan to include the mansion itself too. Buildings are quire easy to render in cross stitch thank goodness.

I hope you enjoy the ride at Halloween Minnie X. I usually went to the park on my own and I didn't want to ride a ghost train on my lonesome so I chickened out.:scared1::scared1:

Unfortunately for various reasons I can't see how I'm to get there again any time soon, if at all, hence getting a minor Dis fix with the cross stitch

Nik, I cant believe you are scared! Its more charming than scarey.

I like the backwards clock, and there's a bit right at the end where your car turns around to face a mirror and it looks like there is a creature with burning eyes on top of your car! Thats good!

My favourite bit is the dancing Ghosts too.
They dance (in pairs) in circles near a cobwebbey banquet feast (a la Miss Havisham) and they shimmer wispily in and out of focus.

The whole ride is very nicely done.

I know, daft innit. Bit of a saga but it goes back to when I was a tot and my sister and I rode a similar type of ride, a jungle based one, when we went to a local seaside resort. This wasn't scary at all until some idiot working on the ride decided it would be fun to scare the bejasus out of two little kids and jumped on the back of our car waving a lighted cigarette about and making scary noises. I think i must have been about five or six and my sister was just a little older. Unfortunately it stuck with me. I still get the collywobbles on some rides but normally manage to enjoy them but I have never yet managed to grit my teeth and go on any ghost train since. I'm sure it's lovely and I'm very frustrated with myself because the bits of it I have seen on video look really great.

Hi Nik :wave2:

Definately need a raven as he turns up several times within the ride, but for me must haves would be the Phantom and Melanie Ravenswood.

This is my favourite PM website
http://www.happy-haunts.com/main/

Lots of media on there, I love the background, the purple wallpaper with the faces is out of the ride.

Great idea, would love to see it when it's finished. :goodvibes

Thank you for that link. I'm not sure whether or not this will work out as I wish but I'm determined to give it a try. Trouble is, there's so much to include they end up massive. I did one for the park as a whole and by the time I'd finished it was so large I couldn't get it framed so it hangs as a huge banner on my stairway.
