Time VMK quest and competition developers (the ones who decide how many players win and how a game is run)to learn about the Disney factor.
Even after almost three years these people do not get this. They understimate the pixie dust we players love to give. Even after all the letters to contact us they still do not get it.
This is my take on how they would come up with who would finish.
I would say not all but many true gamers would know how to beat the pirate score. That 95% or higher would need a team. Most intense gamers really only play for themselves. (not all mind you) So once they got through they would leave their team behind thus making a team re group and get more players. Taking more time to get through and leaving people discouraged so they would give up
And all game devleopers know no matter how many hissy fits they take know that spoilers are a part of computer gaming. So they made the task 575 really hard to make sure any of the people give up or not even try. This letting even less to get trhough. Many gamers play a game become fanatics of that game.
Disney fanatics are a totally different breed
Big mistake they forget what makes us gamers do different
They forgot the Disney Factor
The act of giving sharing good thoughts, feelings, to build up not tear down.
Most of us play VMK for this factor. If we are not gifting new players, we are helping others to fill rooms for best guest rooms.
We spend most of our time helping others, encouraging others giving hugs when friends are having a bad day.
So you add this thinking into a quest that seemed impossible the big Disney factor takes over.
Disney in himself refused to give up his dreams. Even with the odds stack against him. His biggest joy was seeing the smiles on others faces.
So now you have a large group of disney fans. And that is what you got the disney factor.
To dream the impossible, to leave no one behind, to not give up. To share the joys and defeats but always encouraging. As in the song Horizons
"If you can dream it then you can do! yes you can YES YOU CAN!
If you do not understand the disney factor when making games in VMK you will never understand what this game means to 80% of the players
Disney fans are more like family. A family that grows and grows over the years. Always adding new family members
It is hard to destroy a family that is bonded in friendship. The control and conquere theory does not work. A few will do it but as we saw on pirates they were more of an irritant, and did not stop a team from trying. They just got more determined
The fact that players let a player keep trying 4, 5, 6 or more time to get 575. They would have no way of figured this into the equation. The person trying wanting to give up the team saying no you can do it.
So VMK you messed this quest up big time. You cheated the many players who would have finished. You were the true pirates.
Why because you have failed to pass the basic course on Disney 101. Pixie dust 102. Pixie dust is the most magical gift a player can give another player.
Even after the gingerbread disaster you never even got it then.

But no you blame the players and after a rough weekend of success with some tears cause mostly by you closing down the quest early.
You cause dis harmony in the Kingdom. You created resentment, you create
jealousy and cruel words to be said.
I am sure Walt is smiling down on the majority of us. As for the game developers the ones who designed this quest and decided how many would not win he is disgusted.
