I'm enjoying this a lot. Vince Gilligan is definitely in his Better Call Saul mode of slow-burn and small details. After three episodes, I have no idea where this might go.
Yes, we're hooked! We're enjoying the slow-burn of it, and right now it's the one show we're looking forward to each week. The acting is amazing....Rhea Seehorn is so good in this. What are your theories? Spoilers obviously for anyone reading, but for me it's kind of wild. I read that Gilligan said he was not thinking of AI when he wrote it, but to me so far it seems like an alien virus that has essentially turned them into AI bots with a collective mind....with *all* of the information.
So of course that goes to....who/what is controlling them, etc. Can the collective "hive" be turned back to normal....or....are their brains essentially overwritten at this point? And then my husband and I started to think of how sad and lonely it would be, but before we threw in the towel and "offed" ourselves....what kind of fun really cool things might we do? For one, I'd be asking lots of questions for things we've always wanted to know the answers to...like have aliens been here before. Who killed JFK? Is there a God...etc. Great show though .
The AI metaphor is compelling, of course, but what if one of the unaffected decided to request the nuclear bomb? Or something else that we can't fathom at this point? We've seen how cult mentality has brought us to where we are now.
