Plugs for scooters at WDW

We just returned from WDW yesterday after a wonderful week. I do use a scooter and wondered if anyone has ever compiled a list of where the electric vehicles can be charged at WDW. I ran into a problem on my first day there where it seems it wasn't fully charged when I got it and it was telling me to charge after only two hours of not much travel. I had rented it for the week so I couldn't bring it back to the rental place and get another one. I did find a plug in Epcot in the Food and Wine pavilion to plug it in while we were at a food demo but that made me wonder if anyone ever compiled a list of all of them at all the parks. Also, if you find one, are we free to use them for that purpose. It would sure be nice to have a list and know we can use them.

I haven't seen a list, but I know they will let you plug it in at the restaurants.

This is a GREAT idea to have...I would be willing to help with this little project...

Once I found Apple Scooters, though, I never had the problem again and never had to charge my powerchair (I had it with a previous company)...

Inside Casey's by the pin ball machine - there is a plug on the wall - you really have to look for it. But I left mine plugged up there while I ate.

All sit down restaurants and hotel lobbies have plenty of plugs.

Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland at the bigger restrooms, they have a plug as you are exiting the women's restroom...I assume there is one on the men's side, too?

Magic Kingdom near the current meeting place for the Princess and the Frog characters, near the Liberty Tree Tavern and across from Sleepy Hollow. There is a plug right there in the walkway and it wasn't too busy of a walkway, either.


This would be a good list for those with smart phones, too.

In Hollywood Studios, on Sunset Blvd, there are picnic type tables surrounded by some snack and quick service stands. We plugged our ECV in there. There were plugs on the poles that held up the coverings over the tables. We had to search to find one.

Disney has power sockets everywhere that they use vacuum cleaners to clean floors before after or during park hours. Outside they are concealed in planting beds or on the outside of buildings for power tools. Just about everywhere and eerywhere if you keep your eyes open.

Or do as I do, keep it pluged in day & night in your room and use a very, very, very, very long power cord!

Edited to add:.... just a warning, if you go to Epcot, remember to go back around World Showcase at the end of the day in the opposite direction to the way you came in to avoid pulling all the trees into the lagoon as you exit.

Pretty much anywhere you see a food cart there will be plug in. I know one night I was running low at Fantasmic and I plugged mine in outside by the bathrooms where there is a food cart. The plugs are hard to find unless you know what you are looking for.


And at most of the restaurants you can find something. I have plugged mine in at Yak and Yeti, Liberty Tree and this last trip at the ABC Commissary. We decided to eat there specifically because it was indoors and I needed to plug in and it was pouring rain outside. We all decided we would have been better off getting wet and having to push me than to eat the food there! (and we aren't very picky)

Thanks. This time I only needed one at Epcot (I won't take one on the bus) and I did find three of them.

We go again before and after the podcast cruise in December and then I will look in some of the places you gave me. Kinda think I'll rule out the long cord though. lol

When we were the in Sept. I asked a CM where I could plug in my scooter to recharge it. She said that the only place that people are allowed to plug in their ECV to recharge them is at Guest Services.

I have never had any problems at any other locations and have had CM's help me to find a place. I think if you are planning to plug it in and then just leave it for a while then that would be a problem and you would need to go to Guest Services, but as long as you are remaining within site/ the same area it is fine.

By the way, did you know that the ECV rental area has different cords for ECV's and may have one to fit yours if you end up in trouble? I had a battery issue at Epcot a few years ago with my personal scooter and ended up renting a WDW one. They let me leave mine there for the rest of the day and the CM said that he would see if he could find a charging cord for mine. When I went back at the end of the day he had finally been able to find one and had charged my battery for an hour or two. As it ended up that was just enough to EXACTLY get me back to my room! It completely died as soon as I got through the door of the room. I am not sure what I would have done if he hadn't charged it, because I probably wouldn't have made it out of Epcot.

Now that is just plain silly. What does she expect you to do, push it to Guest Services from wherever it has died? I've plugged mine into Liberty Hall, across from France at a kiosk in the World pavilion, under the train (amidst the lockers) in the Magic Kingdom, at the Chinese pavilion, at Guest Services at MGM and a few others.
