Plug in Cooler

Rather than worry about ice and such we'd like to bring our plug in cooler with us to WDW. It plugs into the cigarette lighter in the car and then a regular plug at the site.
Does anyone else do this? Is it practical to just leave it plugged into an extension cord all day?

We use one all the time. Sure beats having to go for ice all the time.

We use our plug in coolers all the time. We just leave them outside the motorhome, underneath a table.
