Hello,

We have been blessed to visit DL and DW several times, but never this close to Christmas! We will be staying at GCH and have hoppers. We are dedicated rope droppers! :) Please help me with a strategy. DCA has EMH from 7-8am on 12/20. DLR opens at 8. The following day, 12/21, DLR has EMH and MM from 7-8, DCA opens at 8.

Which parks would you rope drop on each of those mornings? Thank you for sharing.

Since you are staying at the Grand, I would be using EMH instead of waiting on rope drop. Use the Main entrance, not the hotel gate. Be at main entrance about 15-30 mins prior to opening.

Thank you! Yes, we always go around to the front.

What about Sat. 12/21 at DLR with EMH AND MM. Seems like that includes just about everyone. Still worth it or should we start at DCA at 8:00 since most others will go to DLR?

Still worth it. Do NOT head to Peter Pan first (unless you think you'll be in the first 20-30 people) as if it has a line it will suck up your EMH. You can knock out everything else in Fantasyland in that first hour, then we hop into PP line just before the rope drops.

I agree with the above PP to skip Peter Pan during EMH unless you are at the very front of the crowd. We often ride Peter Pan as our last ride of the night. It's fun to time it a bit before park closing so you can walk out of a relatively empty main street. Great way to end the night.

Still worth it, but like others said skip Peter Pan!
Really the best strategy is using your early entry and use max pass. Also use mobil ordering.

Thanks again. The reason I asked is because when we go to DW, we skip the parks that have EMH because most guests go to those parks so we zig while they zag.

not the same at Disneyland. Hopping between the two parks is much more common at Disneyland so that strategy doesn’t have the same benefit. If it’s busy both parks are just busy. Then general advice is use the early entry absolutly. You will get a ton done in the morning and also it gives you and hand up on using maxpass.

we always arrive about an hour before early entry, get some Starbucks and in we go!
