Just out of curiousity I called CRO last night and checked availability at the deluxe resorts during our trip next month. I was wondering what the crowds might be like, and I thought it might be a good indication. Well, here is a list of all the availability for our travel dates:

GF - gv, lv, concierge
Poly - gv, lv, concierge
CR - tower only
WL - cy, woods, standard
YC - water view only
BC - not available
BWI - water view only
AKL - standard, savannah, concierge

I was shocked! Our trip is only about 3 weeks away and usually the availability would be limited. Especially WL standard and AKL standard. Those usually go fast. It looks like the epcot resorts are doing OK... but the monorail resorts are totally open.

So what do you guys think of this??? Should I expect slow crowds? Or is everyone just not staying in the deluxe resorts?? I'm assuming this has something to do with no AP rates or codes. What is Disney thinking??????

I have also checked on the disney web site and found lots of availability for our time too!

Maybe we won't have long waits for the rides this Easter!! lol

With hours being shortened (last Easter MK was open 'til 12 a.m.) maybe Disney won't be very crowded?

We will wait and see.:D

I'm so mad about those shortened park hours! If disney would just give the resort discounts, then the attendance would go up and they wouldn't need to shorten park hours. Do they really think people will spend $400 a night for a room??? It makes no sense to me. Wouldn't they rather fill the deluxe resorts with discounted rooms than have them sit empty? Oh well... I'm not an expert, just a mom. ;)

Erika, I agree with you!!

Do you think more people will be staying off site?

I have heard of better deals off site.

Has anyone checked those?

Anyone staying off site with a great rate?

TigrLvsPooh--- Never "Just a mom". LOL!!!

We're doing our first 4 nights at Portofino... we got a great deal at hotelkingdom.com... $179 the first 3 nights get your fourth night FREE! :) Now why doesn't Disney do that?????

TigrLvsPooh - you will love Portofino, it is by far my favorite hotel!! Have a pina colada by the beach pool for me!! The only drawback is the $$$ for food....

I'm looking forward to it. :) I think it's a beautiful hotel. :)

I really wish Disney would discount more too. We are in the midst of putting together another last minute trip. Looks like we are going to lock in the dates of 4/24-5/2. After all was said and done, staying on site is out again. It is just too much more. I don't want to stay at the allstars. We can stay in a DD hotel or the Radisson Parkway Resort for about $1000.00 less than a moderate. That really is a huge difference. That is my food budget for the 9 days. DH says that we an get a "deluxe" quality hotel for the allstar type price by not going on site. I'll have to try again next time.

If more people are staying off site than on site, maybe the EMH will be the way to go!

What do you think?:D

Definitely! It makes sense... if less people are staying on-site then the EMH has got to have a smaller crowd. ;)

TigrLvsPooh!! We may have the entire park to ourselves!!LOL:Pinkbounc

Lets not tell anyone else about this!!

I guess it is one of the things that makes the shorter hours more tolerable.

Have fun!!:D :teeth:

Hi everyone..
I just booked the dolphin for easter week with an ap rate of 162 per night...anything else at epcot was minimun 400 per night and there seemed to be plenty of availability and no discounts that time frame:(

Well, I just know that they keep telling me that CSR is booked completely!!!
There has got to be a convention or something.
Every code I try to use I get the same answer....."it is booked even at rack rate!"
BUT.........they keep telling me the other moderates have lots of availability!!!

So, I'm not sure if that is a good sign or bad sign for us staying at CSR.

cindyfan
I bet there is a convention...csr does cater to business groups..so does s and d ...that is a beautiful resort..have fun:D

We will be staying at CSR in May, we did get the initial code that came out for $104.00 plus tax a night and were unable to get any further discounts there. I was afraid it was booked up from conventions too. But after going through the Disney site I found that if I went through to booking a resort without clicking on summers savings It gave me any date I wanted all through the months of April and May at rack rate! So it apears they are not booked they just won't give out any further discounted rooms there for some reason.
