Which club would be the best for a newly married couple to spend some time with their drinking age friends? Do any of the clubs play 80's? I hear 8-Traxx does, but only on Thursdays (which would work out wonderfully for us as we're getting married on Thursday August 10th).

8Traxx is my favorite PI club. The last time I was there they had changed the theme to 70's AND 80's and I'm pretty sure it's still that way. You might also enjoy Rock n Roll beach club. They play top 40 and sometimes they have a live band. P.S. - I see you live in Naperville. I grew up in Joliet.

When I went we started at 8 Traxx than went to the other places but ended up back at 8 Traxx. The music was better and there was a better crowd. We had a blast singing and dancing to 80's music!

You may want to consider Jelly Rolls at BWI/BWV as well. The *awe inspiring* piano players play a lot of 80s. I am a product of the 70s & 80s and absolutely  Jelly Rolls.

My two favorites are the Adventurer's Club (whacky character interaction and a fun, but different bar scene) and the Comedy Warehouse (similar in concept to Whose Line Is It on TV.

8-Trax weaves 80s music into the mixes every night, so no worries there (other than the fact that you'll be enjoying a run of nice 80s tunes and... WHACK! all of a sudden you're back in the disco era, grrr.) Other than that, someone mentioned the Rock 'n' Roll beach club, which is pretty hit or miss, I think... great some nights, a graveyard some others. You're in luck if you're going on Thursdays, it's often one of the more fun nights to go to PI, IMHO.

Jellyrolls is definitely worth checking out, too, while you're down there.

You said spend some time with your drinking age friends... none of the clubs is really conducive to just hanging out, other than maybe the AC. For pure dance energy, I'd say Mannequins.

My hubby and I both love 8traxx. It plays 80's music. You might even hear the occasional 70's song. Very good. We went to several otherclubs just to make sure we would not miss anything and always come back there. If you stay until midnight - they guarantee they will play YMCA!
We love it and have so much fun here!

Here is another vote for you to consider strongly jellyrolls on the Boardwalk!! The way the piano players entertain never ceases to amaze me, and it's not so loud that you can't carry a conversation, but be forewarned if you sit towards the front, you might get called out for doing so!! They play requests, so you will hear anything ranging from Billy Joel (my personal faaaavvvorite! :cloud9: ) to Cougar to barry Manilow to Lee Greenwood. Makes for a very ecclectic evening....Plus it is fun to watch people get tipsy! :hyper2: :drinking: :drinking:

AGREED the Boardwalk is absolutely the best place in all of Disney! IF you like to sit and drink.....not really a dance place more a place to have beers and watch the piano players. They are so amazing its shocking to me that they are not FAMOUS!!!! :thumbsup2

In my opinion 8TRAX has been increasing the percentage of 80's music into the mix with the 70's disco songs, but it does seem to depend on the DJ they have up in the booth each night. Regardless of the vintage of the music, all of the songs played are well-known and many are played with the music video of the song. Nothing stops the crowd dancing....to be replaced by staring at the screen.....like an old Jackson Five song with little Michael back in the days when he was black.
