Jude, (my 11 year old standard poodle) has been having urinary bleeding and signs of obstruction. His prostate is enlarged and his urethra is enflamed although the vet didn't feel a stone. I am almost praying that there is a stone that can be removed. He had a steroid injection and is on another type of antibiotic and there has been no improvement. I am afraid that he has something worse. He is scheduled for xrays tomorrow, abdominal and chest, and an ultrasound on Thursday. His appetite picked up a bit but then I have been adding canned food and boiled chicken. I know everyone thinks that there dog is perfect, but Jude has been a perfect gentleman since he came to live with us 3 years ago at the age of 8. He has never done anything wrong. He is loving, gentle and sweet. He has been my best friend, never leaving my side when I was recovering from rotator cuff surgery. He is so gentle that he still has his stuffed red lobster that he came to our house with. I am in tears. I am praying that I am crying for nothing. thanks for listening.

I'm so sorry he's not doing better. I remember you posted a picture once, and he looked like such a nice dog. Hopefully they'll find the problem and can treat it. It's such a hard thing to have to go through.

I've been thinking of Jude since you first posted about this. Praying it is nothing serious. I know the worry you are going through. Hugs.

I'm so sorry. I will be thinking good thoughts for Jude.

I will send pixie dust and prayers for you baby boy....I know how it feels to have a furbaby fall ill....please keep us posted...as I know that I will be worried...

I'm sorry to hear about this. We had a scare with our beloved Border Collie earlier this year. We're lucky we still have him with us, so I know how it feels to be where you are now. Poodles are wonderful creatures, he sounds like a fabulous friend. :)

Send lots of love his way and hoping it's nothing too serious! :grouphug: Stay strong, Jude! :cheer2:

I hope everything goes well. Glad his appetite picked up.

I'll be thinking of Jude tomorrow! My vet didn't feel any stones either, but my dog's x-ray showed her whole bladder was full of stones, not just one, but lots and lots! I was very scared it would be something worse (cancer) because she was peeing nothing but blood (or so it looked). She's 100% better a month after surgery.

prayers and good thoughts for jude and for you! our furbabies are family. my basset hound was hit by a car about a month ago, and i was beside myself-he'd never had any kind of injury before (he's 5) and i didn't realize how much i loved him until i thought i might lose him. thank goodness, my baby is fine now, and i pray jude will be too.

The urine looks pretty clear....until I dip it with the dipstix. We have been going out to pee every 20 minutes since about 4 pm. He just went to bed so he will sleep until the morning. I hope a stone or two shows up and it can be easily removed. How bad was the surgery? I am not sure how they do it on 'boys".

I am glad he recovered. I lost Annie 3 and a half years ago. She was Jude's aunt. I "knew" when I got him that he was older and that I wouldn't have him forever. Its easy to "know" that until they get sick and then everything you think you know goes out the window. Thanks everyone for the prayers and pixie dust.

all my GOOD thought and energy is for him on Monday . I am sure you have a GREAT Vet !

Sending positive thoughts and energy to you and Jude. :goodvibes

Let us know how it goes

I'll be praying that Jude is okay. He sounds like a wonderful dog. Love his name, by the way..........

Jude has stayed in my thoughts and prayers since you first posted. I will pray for he and you that tomorrow goes well. Sending him lots of hugs and kisses from another dog mommy that worries so over her pets. Hoping for the best possible outcome! Please let us know how you make out when you are able.
