Dawn I remember your post about getting Jude. I thought how fortunate it was for him that you were willing to take an older dog. I'm sending positive thoughts your way.

Dawn, sending good thoughts and well wishes to you and Jude. I'll keep him in my prayers tonight for speedy recovery.

Minky and i send love and good vibes to Jude. I know he is your heart and I hope this turns out to be something simple and fixable. I hope Jude manages all the xrays and testing tomorrow.

Hi Everyone! Its not all good but it isn't all bad. The vet thinks that he has granulomatous urethritis, which is an autoimmune disease. The xrays revealed no tumors or masses. He did a biopsy which will help and he wants to see what the ultrasound shows on Thursday. The tech wasn't in today and he didn't want to delay the xrays in case he had a stone. He said that it is "rare" and they see no more than one or two cases a year. Its not a good diagnosis but sometimes it is very managable. He didn't want to give me false hope but did say the dog they treated last year is doing well and the problem abated. He will be on 20 mg of Prednisone a day...for now. I will know more after Thursday. Jude was "good" for the xrays but didn't like being crated and was unhappy. They gave him some mild sedation and he is a bit drowsy but glad to be home. I had visited some friends while waiting to return, and one of their dogs had bladder cancer, which has a bad prognosis. I had myself prepared for the worst so while we didn't get good news, it could have been a lot worse. Thanks everyone! Now I hope I get some reassurance on Thursday. One day at a time!

That's right. :)

That is good news. It could have been better, but it could have been terribly worse.

Looks like Jude's gonna be hanging out for awhile longer with you guys. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

It sounds treatable. I am hopeful that you have Jude for many more years.

Whew! I think Minky just breathed a sigh of relief! Hopefully, the U/S won't reveal anything else. I bet Jude will feel better in the morning.

I don't know how I didn't see this sooner. :( Sorry, Dawn!

I remember seeing Jude's picture when you redid your bedroom. He is a gorgeous doggie, and I know you love him dearly. :) I hope you find a way to manage his condition so that he's with you many years to come with a great quality of life.
