Please walk me through getting 4th FP+

Okay, I've booked my FP, I am ready to check for a 4th FP+ after I've used them, I've read all of the tips and tricks for moving up FP+ so that you can get to those kiosks more quickly.

Now I need to know how the kiosk works.

Once we find a kiosk and stand in a (hopefully not too long) line and get to the front, what do we do?

Do we scan our magicbands? How? Is there a trick to it or is it identical to the FP return mickey heads? If there are 4 of us on the same reservation (all on my MyMagic+ account) then do we need to scan all 4 bands, or can just 1 be scanned? Do all of us need to be there, or can we have a 'FP runner' standing in line to get the next set of FPs while everyone else hits the bathroom?

When you look at the FPs available, what is the fastest/easiest way to do it? Should you look by attraction or by time? If you don't like the times offered, what's the best way to get the system to spit out more?

Are all of the kiosks the same, or are some reserved for people who have not pre-booked their first 3 FP+? In each park, are there any kiosks that are better (i.e. less crowded) for getting 'extra' FP?

Lastly, do we have to use a kiosk? If there is a CM with an iPad, can we use them instead? I understand that (as of now) we cannot make 4th FP+ reservations online/on a phone.

TIA to anyone who can help out a FP+ newbie (former legacy FP master) so that we're not 'those people' slowing up the kiosks!

1. You scan your ticket media ( A magic band or a card). There will always be a CM around. If you go to a fixed kiosk, the mickey head is by the screen tap the media to it. A CM may do it for you. If you end up with a CM with an ipad (they are the same thing, we are both mobile and fixed) They will scan the ticket for you. You only need to scan once.

2. If you already have made your ride selections for the day, everybody will be in a "party". You'll see a screen on the top of the selections will be Additional Fastpass+ Experiences, click that. the next screen will show you the party members. You can keep all selected or however many people want to do the next attraction.

3. Selecting your next additional fastpass. You will be shown the rides that are available. Choose the one you want, the next screen will show you the time options for that ride that are available. If you want one that is shown, click it and you'll get that fastpass. If not, hit back and try to see if something else that you want is available for a better time slot. You can always select the ride and time if you want and make modifications for it. If it doesnt show you a time you like, its not available.

All kiosks are the same, they all help the same people. The CM's that stand by the fixed kiosks are just using the fixed kiosk, the CM's that have their IPADS out are just considered mobile. Look for the cast in the light blue shirts with the green mickey head on it. Do not ask the Guest Relations (if they are in the location, they have plaid) Or Park support (dark blue shirts with green mickey heads) they'll just direct you to a light blue CM.

Edit: And as for kiosks that aren't as "busy". This really should not impact you to much if you are using your additional fastpasses. By the time those roll around the lines for the kiosk are short. If the line at the kiosk seems to long, as the greeter CM is there another location nearby that may have a shorter line. Always evaluate how many people are in line versus how many CM's are there. Say the line is 5 group deep but there are 8 CM's there, versus a line that is 4 groups deep with only 2 CM's there.

Feel free to PM me if you need more assistance.

Excellent explanation, thanks :thumbsup2

After the 4 th FP ---- can you repeat and ride the same Ride ---- You did before ??? ;)

Am I correct that once you select the additional FP+ at the kiosk, you can later change the time (subject to availability, of course) on the MDE app on your smartphone?

If there isn't a time you like, is the best thing to do take it anyway and then just try to find something you like better on your phone? At least that way you aren't holding up the line, or annoying a CM by having them go through 100 different rides to see which one you like best.

Others are reporting that not only can you change the time, you can also change the ride/attraction. They are grabbing the first choice that pops up on the kiosk and then they manipulate it on their app.

Awesome! :cool1:

I have a follow up question on this--is this still true even if not all party members are on one reservation? We are traveling with another family and all of our MDE are linked, so I made the initial 3 for all 7 of us, but am wondering if I will be able to make our 4th one for all of us or if I should have someone from the other reservation there, too.

Thanks!

I've read all of the tips and tricks for moving up FP+ so that you can get to those kiosks more quickly.

I have read Mesaboy's FP cheat sheet, but there's one thing I haven't been able to figure out. If you have your first FP+ for 10am-11am and use it at 10:01am, can you move everything else up, or do you still have to wait for 11am (the end of that hour)?

Rhiannon, thank you for that explanation - so helpful.

If there is availability move the others up. And, after you use your 2nd Fp+, move up the third.

Thank you!!

Some people move up their next Fp as soon as they clear the 2nd tapstile in the ride queue for their current Fp rather than wait until after they exit. Either way works. Enjoy!

Great question! I'm curious as well....

Also, can you use the FP linked to a ticket if the ticket holder isn't there?
