A guy I work with just said he and his wife and two of their friend returned from a rather inexpensive visit to Orlando by making hotel ressies for two while they all stayed at the resort! Now sure, Disney is pricey, but this is theft in my opinion! If you have 2 couples visiting WDW and you are staying at an ALL Star Resort, why not get a room ressie for 4. It's only 200 more dollars! Can this really be done or am I being lied to. We have been to Disney many times and it never crossed my mind that anyone would do this. Am I niave? Someone please restore my faith in society! I personally think this is not possible, has anyone else heard of some pathetic person doing this?

I added my friend to our reservation. It was only an extra $10 a night for her.

They were there 10 nights, thats stealing $200 from Disney. Sure Disney isn't going to miss the money, but I still think it's wrong, but maybe I am wrong for feeling this way.

Oh I definatly think its wrong!

Just like people trying to pass off their kids for being younger so they can get in for free or cheaper. :sad1:

Sure, it's fairly easy to do and I'm sure it's done all the time.

Some people are real cheapskates and don't think anything of it.

(I can't imagine squishing 4 adults in a room at a value resort! It was tight for 2!)

well $200 might not be a lot of money to you, but to a lot of people it's a LOT of money.

Yes it is done, No it's not right and If Disney found out, the 2 people not on the reservation would either be asked ot leave, or be added to the current reservation and the charge then added to the person's cost. Having been a worker at DRC, I can tell you that people try to get away with this ALL the time. It is fairly common. That's one of the reasons that Disney asks for the names of all the people staying in the room. They have a right to know who is staying in their resort.

Then they have no business going. Like I just said on another thread about cheating the "system" if you can't play by the rules, don't play. Cheating will only make prices go up, or special offers go away.

I am sure it's done all the time.

We own a motel and we decided to go a different route. We charge the same for 2 people in a room with 2 doubles beds as we do for 4 people. We figure that the sheets and towels will be all used and it does not matter if it's 2 or 4 people. If there is more than 4 people, than there is an extra charge. We see it as 4 pillows on the beds, enough room for 4.

People will always do things like this until they are caught. Sad but true.

I can't do things like that because I would be terrified of getting caught!
I guess I'm just a chicken, but I would rather pay the extra money and have the peace of mind that I'm not going to "get caught" or "get in trouble"!

Most of the rooms there have two beds. If the four people don't mind sharing one small bath, why not? Personally my issue that it's near impossible to get a room with one larger bed.

Personally we would never do it because of there only being one bathroom. Too much hassle to get ready in the mornings and evenings.

Did they use their refillable mugs from their last trip?

I like how you do it. To me I think that pricing is stupid. It is one room, it has 2 beds in it, who cares if 2 people or 4 people sleep there? Most hotels I have stayed at give enough towels for 4 people no matter how many are in the room. Can 1 person really use up 10.00 more in water a day? The electric use will be the same no matter how many are there...right? This is one of the reasons we usually stay off site...with 5 people those extra charges are the difference between going or staying home. As it is we don;t go a lot due to price, I'm not made of money and I will not go into debt for a vacation.

Yeah it's stealing and wrong and against policy and I would never ever do it.

HOWEVER, I think it is dumb beyond words for a hotel to charge extra for adults in a room when the room is clearly intended for use by up to 4 people. They don't charge extra for kids IIRC...do kids not shower and use towels? If a room can hold 4 people then they should allow 4 people to stay there without an added charges.

I hate nickel and diming crap.
