Please tell me this is a dumb thing to worry about

I get sick feeling on the backward part every time. I still ride it (once) when at AK.

I take a non-drowsy Dramamine about an hour before riding EE, as the backward part and the G forces can get to you sometimes. RnR however, I can't handle at all, and I normally do well on the loopy coasters :confused3 As a result, I avoid it.

I would not worry about the car not stopping, now the track switch behind the train not going into place correctly that's a different story!! LOL

Good point. That's a much more likely point of failure.

Not really, the way the system works is this:

1) Train comes to a stop secured with multiple safety devices.
2) Track switches from incoming track to outgoing track.
3) Safety devices clear after switch completes successfully and train is released.

Trust me, that one is not a likely failure point. The track won't switch unless the train is secured, and won't release until the track switches. The "more likely" failure is a stoppage on the main lift hill itself, or the train getting stuck in that upper-most position during a failure of the track switch.

Actually, the "most likely failure" is the final yeti scene being completely in the dark and never seeing the yeti. That one has about a 50% likelyhood. :faint:

1) Train comes to a stop secured with multiple safety devices.
2) Track switches from incoming track to outgoing track.
3) Safety devices clear after switch completes successfully and train is released.

THIS is the part that scares ME... "fail-safe" switches (like on the monorail system) aren't always "fail-safe"...

I always get motion sick on the backwards part, i think it's because it's also in the dark.

We just took a Roller Coaster Insider tour at Busch Gardens Williamsburg last weekend and got to see behind the scenes and look at the cars in the maintenance bays and meet some of the machinists. We learned all about the brakes, I would say it is virtually impossible for this to happen. It is more likely that the brakes will work too well and the car could get stuck.

That happened to my ds12 on the ride last summer. The ride stopped and he was on the incline right before the tracks are torn up. Everyone had to climb out (and he said it was hard because they were on an angle). There is a walking ledge, but it was small. He took pics, but he got yelled at by the CM to stop taking pictures. They had to climb up into the mountain, and then take the stairs all the way down. People were crying when they got off. So, sorry I probably scared the OP now. But I'll never ride that ride again. Thank goodness I wasn't on it. I would have been too scared to climb out at that height.
