I am off to WDW in 2 days! I have been checking both accuweather and the weather channel all week and although accuweather looks a bit more promising...they are both now predicting thunderstorms for a few of the days. I am thinking this will be a quick storm and will clear after? PLEASE tell me I am right! LOL

On top of the weather looking a bit gloomy...we are battling the stomach flu now! Let's just say I have not had much sleep this week! LOL

The good thing is in 2 days...nothing will matter! I will be in WDW!!!

There is a chance of rain but not a high one for the weeekend. We are in a drought so if it starts raining I hope it rains for awhile. That is much better than brush fires.

I understand your situation and I of course would hate to see brush fires...but when you plan on a sunny vacation in WDW (coming from the cold North) and you see rain in the forecast..it kind of puts a "damper" on things. I am sure you can appreciate my position as well.

Thanks

I've been checking it out too - we leave Sat. to head to Orlando and Sunday move over to WDW. When I check Weather Channel this morning it showed Thunderstorms Sun/Mon and then clearing for week with only one other day listing scattered showers. I'm hoping these are quick rain only storms that pass through quickly unless they occur over night! We've bought all new shorts, etc so are ready for summer weather in Florida!

Yes I understand the need for a sunny vacation. They aren't real optimistic here for a lot of rain.

The weather has been great. There has been a danger of brush fires here though and I would hate to see parts of Disney catch on fire because of the dryness.

Believe it not, we are experiencing a drought as well. We did not get near the amount of snow this winter that we usually get. Our resevoirs are down almost 2 ft. which is alot for us! We did get some much needed rain a few days ago along with snow yesterday! It was in the 60's in Jan. but snowing in April...go figure!

As long it is warm, rain is not so bad! Now, cold and rainy(like I experienced in Dec.) is just not fun!

You will have a great time here at WDW. The weather is supposed to be beautiful. I remember the days of coming from up North to WDW.

A couple of things that might make you feel better....

#1 - Don't check accuweather or the weather channel for your Florida forecast, I can't tell you how many times in the past I did the same and was sure I was going to have terrible weather when I got to my destination and ended up w/ great weather. My sister turned me on to wesh.com (orlando affliliate of NBC), there you can get the local weather (not so gloomy looking!).

#2 - I can't remember a time that I went to WDW that the rain lasted for any amount of time. As a matter of fact, at times, you can look not too far away from where you're standing and it will be raining while you are standing in the sun. Grab a poncho and make the best of it, always remember, you are at the happiest place on earth and the sun will come back soon!

Oh & btw, have a great trip!!!! :thumbsup2 Here's to wishing you lots of Florida sunshine!!!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
