Please tell me I'm not weird!

I dress my kids in something Disney every day of our trip, and most days, they will wear matching outfits. They are 8 & 4, both boys. I am lucky in the respect that my 8 y/o likes me to pick out his clothes each day, and will wear whatever I set out (he's not into "fashion" yet! LOL)

I also wear Disney clothes every day while in the World. I have tops that I never wear at home, only at Disney!

I have a friend who thinks I'm weird for doing this! I don't know, I think it's kind of......neat!

My older boys are 6 and 8 and I dress them as alike as I can. I pick out the clothes for both of them everyday anyway. I find that having them in similar outfits makes it easier to keep track of them. We also do as many disney outfits as possible, though less than we did when they were younger.

I do weird things at WDW too, like wear a fanny pack everyday . Disney has this way of changing your entire perception, my husband once almost bought a 400 dollar leather Mickey coat on our honeymoon. Glad I talked him out of that, he'd never ever wear that back home. LOL. We still talk about that 10 years later.

Dress them the same, it must make for great photos! Have a great time.

I find my boys get into more of a Disney spirit, too. My eldest will not wearthe Disney stuff at home, so when he got to Disney and discovered his sister and brother both had Disney garb and he had... well, GAP per usual -- he was not happy! Hmmmm -now WHO IS this strange 9 yr old manchild in my room that is wanting a -- gasp -- could it be? A Mickey Mouse shirt?!? Amazing!

And I do dig out my own little stash of Disney gear for WDW trips, but I also find I wear my Disney stuff on ANY vacation, beach, whatever... soemthing about that stuff puts me in a light-hearted vacation mood.

I had to laugh about the fanny packs comment -- I got so accustomed to wearing mine at the parks, I also took it on a trip to Amish country with some girlfriends of mine. It was fall, and I had a sweater on over it. Averywhere I went, people were so NICE to me, offering me their seats, etc. Turns out that with a fanny pack (which I personally tend to wear not on my fanny but over my stomach instead!) covered by a sweater does a fair impersonation of being about 5 mos pregnant. My friends had been teasing me anyway about looking like a dork... apparently I looked like a pregnant dork at that. Perhaps.... but at least I didn't have a nuisance purse to tote around!

I don't think that's weird at all!!! My kids wear Disney clothes every day of our trips, as do I, usually. Dh even has a few T's, but his are pretty much only worn at WDW. I personally find it strange to see people NOT in Disney clothes when at the parks.

If you are weird, then we are over the edge because we ALL dress alike at WDW. We have collected from past trips, disney store sales etc. a collection of matching t-shirts, sweat shirts and nicer polo shirts and we all, including DH wear then at WDW. DS (11)
will not wear the stuff at home any more but I, and sometimes DH will wear ours.
We have gotten so much positive attention from CM's by all looking alike. We have gotten to open parks twice, gotten to ride things twice in a row a few times and had wonderful conversations with wonderful CMs many times. Of course we don't do this to get anything, but when a CM is looking for a family, they want someone with the WDW spirit and that would be us. It is also easy to look for each other as all you have to do to remember what they are wearing is look down. . I find at WDW all the fashion rules go out the window!!!

Oh, goodness!! That is too funny!! Thank you so much for the early morning laugh!! (btw, I only wear my fannypack at Disney, too, and on my belly! Maybe I should wear a big shirt over it and see if I get the pregnant mom treatment too!!! )

Thank God I'm not alone!! I have been quietly collecting matching t-shirts for my 2 DDs from the DS when I see them on sale!! I've put them away until our trip in December because I want them to be "new" when we get there. I live in Connecticut - they will have outgrown them by next summer, but I won't put them on them this summer before the trip! My DH does not even know I have them b/c he will think I am nuts! ( I even have a bag started for him of clothes from the DS store for the trip) We are going with my sisters and their families and I know they think I am nuts when I tell them about what I have bought so far!!. I don't know what it is, I get there and feel like everything should be about the Mouse!!

I have always done this. I spend hours figuring out what we wear and when. I take lots of photos of the kids, and a few family shots, and I want us to look "coordinated" as I tell them.

Last summer I have a great family photo of us in front of castle with me, DH, DS 19, DS 14 and DD 10 in matching Disney T-shirts.

Will do the same this trip even at 20, 15, 11. It is the only time my DH wears his Disney T-shirts. But everyone does there - no problem - because no one cares. Actually have gotten some nice CM attention. (one year 12 of us matched)

I did bring Disney t's for my last trip in Jan but it was too cold to wear them. When I went in Oct 02 with my DD I had her wear Cinderalla T the day we went to CRT, Bear in the Big Blue House when we went to Playhouse Disney.....I guess when I go back I'll be buying matching t's for 2 DD's. I also buy them new Disney PJ's.

I too had a "pregnant" moment at Disney. I had a waistpack (size of a day pack not a tiny one) that I had on my front so I could sit under a poncho and the CM at PoC tell me to be careful and held my hand as I got onto the boat.

You're not wierd, because then I would be wierd. I try to dress my daughters alike a lot since they're only 16 months apart. I buy lots of Disney clothes for them to wear on vacation, and also for my son. Right now hidden in the back of my walk in closet is a bag full of Disney clothes and other Disney goodies. The kids don't know about our July vacation so it will all be a big surprise including the clothes. By the way my husband thinks I'm nuts doing this but surprise there are Disney clothes in the bag for him too!

I don't have a lot of Disney apparel - just one t-shirt and the cute Mickey socks. I'm pretty picky and cheap when it comes to buying clothes. I look every year for a new t-shirt, but I never seem to find one I'm willing to pay the price for.

The socks I have are very comfortable. I got them in the sports store at DTD.

As for dressing alike, my girls like to dress alike. They call it being "matchy matchy". All of us ended up with khaki shorts and a navy shirt last trip and we called ourselves a "family unit". It was fun.

I shopped my way thru WDW last year and my DH thought I was nuts - except that I keep wearing them now that we're home. My DD is even worse - she refuses to wear any t-shirts unless they are disney. Luckily we have ggod friends who have two daughter slightly older than mine and the mail the disney hand-me-downs across state lines!

If you're weird, then I must be completely bonkers!! Most of my regular wardrobe is Disney as well! We only have 1 ds(3), so we've only tried to dress alike once - at MVMCP, and as it was a spur of the moment thing, couldn't find matching Christmas shirts anywhere in the World. But, we were all in red, and DH and I matched! (his idea too!)

But, I buy the vast majority of my daily (casual) wardrobe at the Disney Outlet. I even got a comment on the older Tigger polo that I was wearing yesterday at the Disney Store! Disney never gos out of style!!!

It's my DH who actually wants us all to match! He won't let us wear any of our Disney T's anywhere BUT at Disney! I tell him he's crazy, but secretly I'm glad he cares so much and I'm THRILLED that he loves WDW as much as I do! I'm so lucky!

There are 8 of us going next trip. We just bought 3 sets of matching plain T-Shirts. We are currently working on designs to transfer onto them. It is fun designing our own matching Disney outfits. I'm thinking that tomorrow we will have a disney coloring contest. Once the kids finish their pictures I'm going to scan them into my Printshop Program and make personalized Disney T's for each of them. They all love to draw and color so they will think that this is very cool.

My DH gets on to me about dressing our DSs in matching outfits. They are 21 months apart and for some odd reason often mistaken for twins (the fact that one is more than a head taller, talks more, is more coordinated etc. seems lost on a lot of people...they see 2 boys with blonde hair...must be twins!). I have collected a bunch of Disney shirts for them to wear on our upcoming trip though. I too think about what they will wear when. They have Mickey Mouse Club shirts to wear to Chef Mickey's (their only matching ones), Pooh shirts for breakfast at Crystal Palace, Toy Story shirts for MGM day etc. I got them matching Mickey shirts and made sure that DH also has a Mickey shirt and I have a Minnie shirt. I plan for us to wear them the day we have breakfast at Chef Mickey's. We can get a family pic w/ Mickey and another in front of the castle with all of us in coordinated (couldn't convince DH to do matching!) shirts. Beyond that, they boys will both wear Disney shirts each day. I have my Minnie shirt and a Pooh shirt. DH has Mickey and Grumpy for him.

My trip is still 3+ months away. I spent my Easter Sunday making lime green T-shirts with mickey and minnie on them for our entire family (9 of them). I thought it was fun, but my dh says I'm obsessed. I also made some navy blue ones (11 of those) with a picture of our sugarhouse on them. So we now have 2 shirts for all of us and I have one more in the works. My DB and DSIL think that I am absolutely nuts. They are not going to WDW with us, but they will be doing other smaller trips with us this summer so I offered to include them in my T-shirt project. They said that they did not want to look strange. "Everyone is going to think your all wierd" I say who cares and besides it is cool at WDW. I also hit the disney store on Friday. Our nearest store didn't have much on clearance, but I was able to get my 3 DSs matching T's. They were in their Easter Basket and They all wore them today. They were so excited.
