We are booked for Aug 30-Sept 6. Please tell me I'll still be able to get ADR's for that time! I wanted to wait until I finished school (next week is my last final) to figure out an itinerary and go from there with ADR's. Someone else told me not to wait, what do you think? :confused3 Anyone else experience problems this far out? I also heard because of the FD it's becoming a problem getting ADR's. We want to do a lot of the character meals so I don't want to miss out. THanks!:goodvibes

I wouldn't wait to book ADR's unless you simply had no choice because there have been many posts by others stating they couldn't get the ADR's they wanted. We are staying the exact same dates as you are & booked our ADR's on March 3 - the first possible day we could book them & got everything we wanted - even the elusive Le Cellier ADR. However, I will say anything is possible because for our trip last year (we went at the same time) we didn't decide to go until mid July & still were able to get almost all the ADR's we wanted. On a side note: last year we wanted O'hana for dinner and couldn't get it when we first called but called a few more times & within 5 days we were able to book it. So if you wait & don't get something you want you may still be able to get it if you call back & keep trying. Whatever you decide, Good luck!

I was about to say that waiting a week won't make much difference, until I saw that you want to do a lot of character meals. Your choices are already going to be a bit limited there, people tend to book those really early.

Go ahead and make the ADRs. Then plan your park days around your meals, when you're done with school stuff and have more time.

Do it now! I called to move somethings around yesterday and they are booked up already for dinner at almost all my favs.

I would book them NOW. We are going September 1 - 9 and we booked ours on March 3. I have read a lot the last several days that people are having no luck getting in to Chef Mickey's.

I'm having trouble getting a couple of character meals I want for the week of September 20 so BOOK NOW!!!! I call every couple of days and finally got Donald's Safari Breakfast after 3 weeks of trying. I'm still trying to find a character meal after 4pm for the night of the Halloween party.

Good luck!

I would also say do it ASAP! I was a little later than I shoudl have been making our ADRs for April... I think I really started in Late January, maybe early February and got into at most of the places I wanted to, but not the best or ideal times... With that being said, make what ever ressies you can and if you dont get the times you want, book anyway (at leat you will get in), and then keep calling back and check on times, there are cancellations made all the time - better safe than sorry - they book up fast. The longer you wait, the slimmer your chances are in getting what and when you want! Good luck!

Do not wait, and expect to have difficulty getting popular restaurants, or to find the available times at very early or very late hours.

I agree.....run dont walk to your telephone.......post back and let us know how you did....good luck

We just changed our plans and added the free dining for 9/14-9/19 and I am having SO much trouble finding ADR's for dinner that are not at 3:30 or 9:00 PM !!

People here freak out way too much about ADRs, IMO. I called last week for Sept. and was able to get everything I wanted. And they seemed to have a lot of available times for the places I wanted. I only booked one a day because I don't want to be constantly running off to meals. Plus, there are few CS places that I think are amazing and don't want to skip. :thumbsup2

I don't do character meals though so I can't give an opinion on those. I suppose they book up faster. I guess that might be why I seem to have a much easier time than other people who care about character dining. I don't know. :confused

As long as you are flexible with times and dates you will probably get whatever you request unless it's ridiclously popular.

Honestly, I've been during all times of the year at WDW and never had any problems making ADR same day at the places I enjoy. The only ADR I've ever NOT been able to get is Le Cellier, but one night I walked in (in May, it was raining and an off time).

If you have things you know you want now, book them now. You'll never starve at WDW. Even if you end up eating all CS, it's not like it's McDonalds. There are CS places in WDW I like better than some TS places.

We are going 9/3-9/8 and the only ADR I need is for Chef Mickey's(DGS2 is a huge mickey fan). Otherwise we will be eating at places that don't take ADRs, ESPN, Beaches and Cream, and Planet Hollywood. Don't care for any of the others. My 2 favs have been changed (they are closing Concourse Steakhouse and I don't care for Ohana's anymore, miss my pineapple and caramel, green beans, grilled shrimp) Thoug we do stop by the bar for pina coladas (they are the best!!)
Hoping like last year to exchange TS for CS with 2 extra snack credits.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the info. I have a final tonight but since I do want a lot of character meals, I think I'm going to start working on it as soon as I get home! I hope I'm not too late, it's DS first trip and he LOVES Mickey right now so I definitely want Chef Mickey's. We have never been to Ohana's so I wanted to try the Stitch and Lilo breakfast there too. I think the most important one right now is Chef Mickey's...I'd be really upset if I couldn't get that one!

Can't advise you on Chef Mickey, but Mickey and Pluto are also at Ohana's breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. I just called 2 days ago to change my ADR there to 1 hour earlier and had no problems. They had plenty of time slots open for September.

Oh that's awesome...thanks for letting me know! Now at least if for some reason we can't get Chef Mickey's then we can still catch them at Ohana's. DS will be so excited! Thanks!
