Please tell me if we can do this....

We really want to rent points or book straight through Disney (we aren't DVC members) to do * for a few days after *. We are family of 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 8, 6, and 3). We can't get a 2 bdrm but can get a 1 bdrm vacation home (through Disney's website or renting from a DVC owner). However, technically, since we are come up as a family of 5 I was told we can't book the 1 bdrm for our family. Will we get in trouble if we book as a family of 4 (our kids will likely just share the bed anyway)? I love Disney and am not trying to rip them off. Thanks for any assistance.

Disney will allow 5 in a 1 bedroom but will not supply the bedding or towels for the 5th person. Seeing as your children are young, I think you would manage just fine. Go to Target, or whatever, and buy a cheap inflatable matress that you can throw away after.

If you book this through Disney and not through DVC, they will not permit you to have five in the one bedroom.
