I originally had a reservation for the Dolphin for 6 nights (Dec. 9-15). Even though I've always wanted to stay at there, it still isn't Disney. And I trust Disney resorts. Plus my rate there wasn't that great to being with (212 with limited view). And with only one sink and double beds, to me, it wasn't worth it.

SO, I've decided to do a split stay: Pop first 3 nights and FW Cabins the last 3 nights. It was a few hundred dollars cheaper, which is all good to me, haha! I loved ASMusic when I stayed there, so Pop should be good. And I've read great after great reviews on the Cabins.

But please tell me I won't be let down!!! :cool1: :cool1:

I think you will be fine doing a split stay. We enjoyed when we did a split stay because it feels like to vacations. The Epcot area is really nice, but since you have never been there you won't feel like your missing anything! We LOVED POP! I think it is a great resort and I hope you enjoy the cabins. We have never been there, but I do believe you can watch the Electrical Magic Parade from the beach at the FW, so be sure to do that. It is so nice!

Have a great trip!

Pesonally, I would have stuck with the Dolphin. It is hands down far and above Pop in all areas. We've never stayed in the cabins, so can't comment on those. The Dolphin is a true deluxe, the beds are amazing (heavenly) and the location can't be beat. The pool is really nice and has the slide. Saying that, it really depends on if you want ME and DDP as those are not available to you at the Dolphin or Swan.

I think you did fine. Doing Pop Century your first three days is perfect because you'll be going, going, going and that's the atmosphere there. It's more upbeat. with the cabins, it will be much quieter and a wonderful way to relax before you have to go home. I've stayed at both and it sounds like a great option to me.

PS - take at least one flashlight for the Cabins. It gets very dark there.

I would have stayed with the deluxe hotel adjacent to EPCOT, MGM and Boardwalk over a motel with very limited services.:confused3

POP is out and out Disney! So you'll have a blast! We also stayed in ASMu in the past, which we loved the theming of, and are staying at POP on our next trip for a couple of nights.

I've heard good things about FW too...

Looking at where you've stayed in the past, I think you made the right decision.. sounds like you enjoy the theming etc of Disney... so go ahead... enjoy it again!

Ditto! ;)

DH & I just stayed at Pop and he said next time it is the Poly or the Swolphin. I thought Pop was kind of tacky and the guests were pretty boorish, too. The food court sucked (it was like high school cafe food) and everything just seemed really cheap. We won't do that again.

Pete,
You made a good choice, don't second guess. You'll stress yourself out. (Just get all your dining reservations done, though!!!) Go and have a great time!

Oh, the only thing I would suggest is pay the extra $12 and get a preferred room at POP. If you get a room in the boonies--the resort is big--you'll wish you had during that long walk after a day in the parks.

I would have stuck w/ the dolphin. I do hope you have a great time, just go into the vacation w/ the right mind set and everything will fall into place!

I love the idea of split stays and hope to do one in the future...

AS for as you are concerned....You will love POP..I did...the food court, 60's pool area, outside bar...everything was great...yes the rooms are small..but that is where you will spend the least amount of time!
The FW cabins look like so much fun! We have a seasonal place in a campground...so it wouldnt seem like a vacation for us...but those cabins look perfect and you cant beat everything it comes with!
When we retire, a want a 5th wheel so we can camp at FW!

Thanks everyone SO much for your opinions. I really took it all in and in the end it would of killed me not to stay in a Disney resort, so I decided to officially cancel the Dolphin and do the split stay. Thanks again.

I have stayed at both will be at POP again in 2 days :cool1: you did FABULOUS! as another poster said POP Disney 24/7 and then wind down your vacation at FW ....2 of my favorite resorts :thumbsup2
