Please tell me about Tusker House lunch!

Hey all-

Looking to try a non-CS meal at AK next trip, and saw Tusker House had a lunch buffet. Can anyone please tell me how it is? Is it chaotic during busy lunch times? How was the food?

We showed up here on a whim for lunch during our Thanksgiving vacation 2 years ago and we were pleasantly surprised! We did not have an ADR & we showed up around 11:45. We got right in and the food was fresh and hot. There was a huge variety of options and we found everything (including the service) to be fantastic! It is very well themed.....no characters for lunch, but we absolutely loved it.

We went in January and waited about 5-10 minutes past our ADR time. There were A LOT of walk-ups and the wait was around 35 minutes. Our server was double-sat, so she basically waited on us and the table next to us at the same time, but we had no problem with that. She was great with refills, and even got me a recipe for one of the items on the buffet.

This was my favorite place when it was counter service, so I was excited to try it as a buffet, and I was NOT disappointed. There's lots of selection and some nice 'exotic' offerings. If you eat meat, you have to try the pork loin with spicy mustard sauce (that's the thing I got a recipe for). I don't even like pork, but this was to die for!

The dessert selection is pretty limited (but to be honest, I'm never too impressed by buffet desserts) but I left lunch STUFFED. I would definitely recommend it.

We had breakfast and lunch there last year. Loved breakfast, hated lunch. I'm very open to different foods but after 2 or 3 trips to the buffet I didn't find anything I liked enough to eat a full meal of. I ended up eating off the children's buffet.

We ate there on our last trip and left stuffed! It was busy, but not packed and the food was great. We've booked again for our next trip in a few weeks.
