What do you guys think about the WC fo my kids 3 and 1 1/2 a good idea? My brother and sister may join us 14 and 12. Is it worth the trouble to get there from the Polly? How do you get there boat or bus? Thanks

WCC is one of our favorites at WDW! My son who is 4 is still talking about our meal there last month. Both our sons (4 and 1) loved the pony rides. Our 4 yr old loved the antics from our waiter. It gets loud, but it has never been over the top when we have eaten there. Great food and great times!

I'm not crazy about WCC but I went without any kids -- it was just DH and me. I don't particularly enjoy having napkins and straws thrown at me by the server, nor do I like having to yell for ketchup and then have everyone who has a bottle of ketchup bring it to my table. That being said, children might enjoy some of the games that are played with the kids. It might be a little loud at times for the 1 1/2 year old.

I think it would be faster and a lot more pleasant to take the monorail to the Contemporary and then a boat from Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge then to go by bus. The boat ride is really nice.

Hope this helped.

we have had different visits at WCC. We have had huge CM interaction and then not at all. 2 wks ago when we were there for breakfast it was early, around 8am and there was not a whole lot of interaction but around 9 it started picking up as we were leaving. We actually had the same server as 2 yrs ago and she remembered us so that was kinda cool.

2 yrs ago when we went we went twice, once for breakfast, and had awesome interaction (cloth hats and all) and then once for a late dinner and we were placed in the side room next to the pin trader place and we had no interaction but at that point we had just wanted a hot meal after too long of a wait at the dtd restaurants.

overall tho we love the restaurant, breakfast more so for dinner but both are yummy meals.

as far as getting there you can take the monorail to CR and then boat like the above post or take the monorail to MK or TTC and then take the bus over if the boat is an issue.

If you have young kids then go. They will love the interaction with the CM's. Back in the day when it first opened it was a little more spontaneous. Now everything is so scripted (ketchup, napkin swirling, pony ride for kids) that it has lost it's charm for me. Food isn't as good. But there is a lot of fun for the little ones. :confused3

one of my favorites. only for dinner though.

little known facts: whispering canyon cafe is neither whispering nor it is a canyon. it's technically not a cafe either in the strictest sense.
