Just noticed this on the boards. When did it open? How is the food and what would you compare it to? Looks like a lot of new restaurants have opened since my last visit in 2007.

We ate at the Wave in 2009. Service was good, atmosphere chic but the food....subpar. I had the seafood linguini, DH had the beef tenderloin and DS had the filet mignon. I the linguini was better at the Turf Club at SSR. Both steaks were dry. Dessert was at the recommendation of the waiter but blah. We were excited when that we may have found another dining option close to the MK. We will continue to go to Ohana. I would compare the food to Kona. We do not like the steak at Kona either. It is overrated and always tough.

I just ate there 2 nights ago and my husband and I did not like it at all! It was the worst meal we have had on this trip. Everything was so bland and we had horrible service. The food wasn't bad, just forgettable. Everything sounded good, but just didn't have any flavor. There are better places to eat in Disney. Go upstairs and eat at California Grill instead.

We have never eaten there for dinner, but the lunch was pretty good. We had crab cakes, very nice burgers, and they have delicious salads. My brother did complain about the goat cheese spread being a little overpowering on the chicken sandwich but I love goat cheese and thought it was yum. They also have a beer and wine flights that you can try. I agree that I probably wouldn't waste a dinner there, but it is lovely for a nice lunch and never has anyone there so you can walk right in. Here is a link to the lunch menu...

We ate here about a year ago and my thoughts were I could see what direction they were trying for but kind of missed the mark. I would compare it to a Seasons 52, just not as good. Healthier options, fresh foods, more californian cusine (if that's even a thing?) For example, I had a seared tuna with like blanched green beans on some mixed greens. I can't remember what my husband had but our little girl had the nachos. I really wouldn't even call them that, no melted cheese and I think it had ground turkey, sorry can't remember details. I would in no way, shape or form compare it to Kona (which is my favorite place for lunch on the whole property). Expect a lighter meal, nothing too heavy, nothing greasy or fried. In that aspect it is different from any other restaurant on property. Hope that helps, I would give it a try if that sounds at all appealing to you.

I've eaten here a dozen times and never been disappointed. Most recently was a few months back. Whenever we stay at BLT we eat at least one meal here. It is very much like Seasons 52, but does offer every meal. It's usually very quiet, which we like. I don't like Kona except for breakfast, sorry PP, so I wouldn't compare them either.

we just had dinner there on a whim in mid august. the rain was about to come down hard so we jumped on the monorail and decided to find something at the contemporary for dinner so decided on the wave. there was about an hour wait for the dining room but we could get the full menu in the lounge so we did the lounge. we had the crab/scallop duo as an appetizer which was good. as a main entree i had the chicken and waffles and i was pleasantly surprised. the chicken was well cooked and tasted really good. the waffle was good but i hadn't really expected to eat much of it anyway. the service was a little slow at first but they had one server trying to work two lounge areas and the bar. the area had filled up fast and within maybe 10-15 minutes they had a second server helping and things flowed really well after that. i'd eat there again.

Thanks everyone! Opinions are definitely mixed on this one. It sounds like it might be a good idea for lunch on MK day if you want a cocktail with your lunch.

We've eaten here for both breakfast and lunch and have enjoyed both. The dinner menu doesn't look at appealing to us. As far as breakfast, it's one of our top two favorites for sit-down. Great coffee, health and delicious options, and last time we went they had a breakfast buffet or you could order off the menu. Lunch menu seemed like it had more healthy options than you'd usually find elsewhere...and smaller portions, but everyone in our group of 8 enjoyed it and we'd definitely go back.

You ask 10 people you get 10 different answers! We ate there for dinner on 8/21. We had a wondeful meal and several of the kids said it was their favorite restaurant the whole trip. I had the chili rubbed flat iron steak with boniato mash. It was wonderful. Would definitely return!

We liked the Conourse but they took that out and put in the Wave few years ago we had dinner there and was just so so.. dessert was OK. :confused3 we have decided this trip in 12 days to try the breakfast there a have heard it is good so will see. seemed so cold in there but willing to try one more time:thumbsup2 steak was nothing to brag about so hope breakfast is better

We were there last week and we really liked it! I had the pork tenderloin and it was tender and cooked perfectly. My sister had the beef tenderloin and said that it was just "ok" but then she woke up in the morning with a horrible cold so she thinks that she just wasn't very hungry because she was getting sick. I loved the dessert trio that I had as well. It all depends on what you like I guess!

In a word: salty. I usually do not have much negative to say about anything at Disney, but we were disappointed. We are always looking for healthier, fresh, creative food and I was really looking forward to trying The Wave. If they reduced the sodium content by about 50% I would have been quite pleased. Maybe it was the chef that night... :confused3

We ate dinner at the Wave in December and really enjoyed it. We went before MVMCP and had a group of 6 adults and everyone enjoyed their meals. The atmosphere was comfortable yet nicer than many of the 1 credit TS restaurants. I would def eat there again. The only reason we won't be eating there in October is we're only doing 1 TS dinner and decided to try Yachtsman for something new.
