hi guys, have a 1 night trip , driving out Sunday 13 jan, staying one night at sequoia lodge ( standard room) then 1 day in the parks on the 14th before driving home that night. it will be my son's 9th birthday on the 13th so will be doing a character dinner when we arrive.
not worried about park info as my boys have a good idea of what they want to see in a day, what I'd like to know is what will crowds be like on a Monday the middle of January and also what can you tell me about the sequoia lodge? I read the hotel thread already, just wondered if there was anything else I should know.
many thanks

I would expect mid-week January to be very quiet indeed in the parks. The Christmas season will be over and the only downside may be more ride closures as it will be low-season. I have been at the end of January and found it very quiet so imagine it will be similar.

I love the Sequoia Lodge, along with many others on here. Its lovely warm atmosphere will be just what you want on a possibly freezing January trip. The rooms are warm and spacious. If you don’t have a kettle in the room just ring down and request one – we did earlier this month and one was sent up very promptly and we were not asked for a deposit. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom area. Breakfast is civilized as you are seated and at such a quiet time there should not be too much of a queue. Hopefully the log fire will still be lit in the bar in the evening.

Have a good trip! :goodvibes

We went Sun-Wed in mid January a few years back.

Was SUPER quiet. :) You'll love it.

As someone else has said there will be a few rides shut but we thought it was worth the trade off. :)

Sequoia Lodge is the perfect theme for a cold trip too. :)

Thanks for the information about the Sequoia Lodge! I'll be staying there for the first time a week from now!

that all sounds perfect, thank you for the replies! have a great trip wdwislife
