Please Tell Me About Campfire Program!!

We have reservations for the Hoop De Doo Revue at 5pm. Does that leave time for the campfire? We have never done it before & this will probably be our last chance for a while. Also can you walk from the dinner to the campfire? Thanks for the help!

Hi,
From what I understand the Campfire will start at 8pm until the time changes (daylight savings). Then the campfire will start at 7pm. We plan to do this in September on our arrival night. I will report back on how it goes.

Thank you. I have always wanted to do this! I'm thinking I might cancel my reservations for the Hoop de doo & eat at the Trails end Buffet but I am not sure. Enjoy your trip!

The campfire is ok. Chip and Dale do come visit for a little bit but its harder for the little kids to visit as there is no structure for visiting. Pretty much a free for all.

Bring a seat cushion if you want to stay and watch the movies as you are seated on metal bleachers.

Also if you want to roast marshmellows that can be tough too. There are only 2 small firepits and if you don't get there early some people will sit down next to them and never move so you have to lean and reach all inbetween them and over their heads to roast one.

The movie can be hard to hear because there are kids still just running around, playing and yelling.

Personally I wouldn't go again but that is just me.

Thanks for the info! We are staying at Pop for our trip & one of the reasons we have never gone is the time it takes up to travel. We were thinking about this for the last night of our trip but we still have time decide. Enjoy your trip.

We finally tried this last year and everybody but the 6yo hated it! The singalongs were led by a young man who just could not sing. It was very painful for my musically talented boys. We heard later that the lady who normally does this had been out sick and is really wonderful. Don't know if I'll be able to drag them back. The 6yo was also disappointed because we sat on the bleachers and the characters never made it back to us. We didn't stay for the movie.

If you're there for Hoop Dee Doo anyway, I can't see any reason not to go ahead and give the campfire program a try. If you don't like it you can always leave, but I think you'll probably like it. For watching the movie, it's true that there are metal bleachers (with no back rests), but in front of those there are also log benches that do have backs - try for one of those if you get there early enough. They're not super comfortable either, but they're better than the bleachers. The most comfortable of all is to take your own camp chairs, but that probably won't be practical in your situation.

It is possible to walk there from Pioneer Hall, but it's a bit of a hike, and a little confusing in the dark, so since it's your first time, I'd take one of the internal buses instead. Just tell the driver you want to go to the Campfire program, and he (or she) will let you know what stop to get off at.

The lady who usually does it is named Sundee, and she is pure Disney Magic! Her days off are Sunday and Monday.

We love the campfire singalong. We usually eat dinner at Trails End and then go to the campfire. This is pretty much our first night at Disney tradition. We've never stayed for the movie, but we really enjoy the singalong.
