tldr: Is noise part of a motel's 'charm'?
About 4 years ago we stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites. I knew it wasn't a fancy place but the disboards mostly said it was decent, clean and people really liked it. We ended up with a room that was clean-ish but the worst for us was the noise levels. I could hear people talking in the next room. I could make out what words they were saying. If someone sneezed we could hear it. I believe most of the noise we heard was from neighbors on either side and not above or below. When housekeeping's cart wheeled down the hallway, it literally shook the outside wall. I could see it vibrating. The blinds rattled. Had we not been staying there, the whole thing was really comical. Our next trip I ponied up the dough and we stayed at the GCH. It was wonderful of course
Now I am planning our next trip in April and it has to be off-site. BWPPI is looking good, they have done a refurb and location is great of course. Mostly what I read is that it is great but the couple people that have complained about noise I am *really* paying attention to.
Which finally brings me to the question (and thanks for reading all this)
Is that kind of noise level just part and parcel of staying at a motel?
Would bringing a noise machine help?
Would staying on upper floor help?
I so appreciate all you guys reading this and I know it's my decision. I would love to hear what you have to say. I am also looking at Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance and Fairfield Inn, but BWPPI with it's location is really what I am all about right now.
thank you!!
