Penny, I'm sending pixie dust and lots of prayers your way for God's blessings on your family and especially your mother.

Thanks for all you do for your DISFamily!

Hugs and prayers for you and your Mom, Penny. :grouphug: I think it's wonderful that your Mom and your family could experience those trips to Disney together like that.

Thinking of you and your wonderful spirit....sounds like much of that comes through your Mom. Blessing on her and you! :wizard:

You and your mother will be in my thoughts and prayers.

You have truly made some great family memories. Enjoying family everyday (as if it could be your last) is the most important and special thing a person can do.

Pixie dust, happy thoughts, and prayers to you and your family.

Aw, you guys are just too, too nice. :grouphug:
I was just coming here to post my apologies for being missing. First I had the trip, then house hunting, then Mommy ended up in the hospital. :sad2:

However, things are looking up. Yesterday she was sitting in a chair chatting and smiling. The best she has looked since this whole thing started. I am blessed to have her. Something I didn't share in my other post. My mom was a ward of the state for many years because my grandmother was too sick to take care of her and the siblings. Foster care back in those days (late 30's & early 40"s). Back then it was "free labor". Mommy, at a young age, was the child who did the ironing, clearning and skut work. Some of her foster parents weren't mean, that was just the way it was. When my brother took in foster children (before he adopted 3 of them) my mom would make sure they got Christmas gifts, even if they had only been there a few weeks. She said that was becasue her saddest memory was waking up Christmas morning and getting clothes, but never a toy as Foster Parents would only buy clothes with the "Christmas" monies and not toys.
Finally when she turned 16 she got a great foster mom. A woman we called grandmom, until her death. Mommy decided that she had to pay Grandmom's goodness forward, so most of her our lives (even though we were very poor) my mom took in stray people. Whenever someone was down and out and needed a place to stay, she opened her doors. Some of those people are her friends to this day. & through her actions we were taught that is better to give then to receive. I am blessed to have this woman as a mom.
So a little bit about the person who helped shaped me and more than you all wanted to know, :lmao:but I am feeling very greatful and nostalgic this morning

Thank you so much Mel for posting this and for everyone else for thier good wishes. :hippie:Penny

What a wonderful story. Pixie Dust and Prayers for your family. My Grandmother is 92 and we are all going to the beach in two weeks. I took her to Epcot about 9 years ago and she loved it. I wish I could take her back. My cousins have made the comment that this will be her last family vacation but I just pray that isn't so.

Your mom sounds like a wonderful woman. I hope you'll all be able to go for another one last visit trip!! pixiedust:
