Well, I have been having a great time using my ipod when I walk on the TM. Have found that certain songs are better than others for keeping the pace up.
My favorite so far is "Fame" by Irene Cara. I am sure there are a lot of other good, fast-paced choices.
What are your favorites?

This is going to sound strange, but I sometimes walk to the Magic in the Streets Disney CD. It has the parades on it and it is a nice pace. (And when I get tired I remember that those kids DANCE that route!)

Oh my...I may be reaching...but here are some that pop into my head!!

Dancing in the Streets- Lionel Richie?

Gloria Estefan's-Move your body to the beatah...

Julie Andrews- "I Have Confidence" from Sound of Music

Scritti Politti's biggest hit...just can't think of it

Phil Collins...SuSuSudia?

Celebrate Good times come on- ?

Pink Cadillac- Aretha?

That video with the mannequin like girls all dressed in black dresses by Robert Palmer?

Not a MJ fan...but Beat it by Michael JAckson

Elton John's oh I can't think of the name of it!!! Something about rockets?

Billy Joel...the one where his ex-wife starred in it....

Steve Miller Band...again it's fleeting me...peaches from your tree???

Pure Energy....forgot the band....AAAGH!!! I'm not even 40 yet and my brain is fried!

For warming up or slowing down....Louis Armstrongs' 'OH WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD!!!"

ENJOY!
Tara

Right now I'm enjoying "What You Waiting For" by Gwen Stefani. VERY upbeat.

Fresh from the gym and I have to say one I really liked tonight was Nelly's Shake Your Tailfeather - VERY upbeat. Hard not to run a little faster with a song that upbeat! :cool1: I also really like Maroon 5 and Bruce Springsteen :)

I bet DH has some of these on CD's in his drawer. I'll have to have him look for them and I can upload them to my MP3 player. Thanks for the idea. That is what I love about this Board, you can pick up such great ideas and motivation. Thanks again!!

Oh, boy! Music trivia!! :Pinkbounc

David Bowie and Mick Jagger did a cover, but I think the original was a girl group from the 60s?

WOW WOW WOW!!!!

I am sooo excited! Lots of new music ideas. Now, I admit, I have never heard of some of them, but that just means I'll have lots of fun on itunes listening to 30 seconds of each song! Thanks!

Any more?

I'm listening. . . .

 :Pinkbounc :rolleyes1

If I listed my music I would surely tell my age!!! Let's just say that Queen's Classics is my favorite!

Hey, Tiggerkeeper, how funny that you said that! I just told my husband on Sunday that he has to track down our copy of Queen's greatest hits because I MUST have it on my ipod! I can't wait to put some of those songs in my workout playlist!

As soon as I read this, I thought..."It's Raining Men", by the Weatehr Girls. Great song with a great beat....you can really run to it....I give it a 10~~~

Ok so now I have this mental picture of me walking down the half marathon route reading my Stephanie Plum book while Cam is bouncing along singing Bohemian Rhapsody :cool1: Did any of y'all see Barrage (or was it Blast) at EPCOT? They did a hysterical version of that song!

And one more time for the dancing banana  just cause it's funny.

I LOVE this little guy -- He really makes me want to get up and get moving!

Chimera -- I am a huge Stephanie Plum fan!! Oooooohhhhhh and Ranger, YUM!!! Anyway, I am one of those people who LOVES to read on the treadmill, though at the pace I am trying to do, it is kind of hard. My DH always teases me about multi-tasking. One night, I had my feet in my new foot spa, was watching Princess Diaries 2, eating popcorn, and reading a book. All it would have taken to complete the picture was my ipod for background music!!!

Lizdotcom99 -- Its Raining Men is right at the top of my list. That is a great song to work out to. So are a lot of the songs from "Grease".

"Girls Lie Too" -- another good beat. And, of course, Shania Twain, "Man I Feel Like a Woman"

In HS, my CC coach used ot play a song for the slide show each year. Here's what I remmebe rof the lyrics:

Behind you another runner is born, Don't look back, you'll be there...

Chorus:
And you will run your time. A shooting star across the line. And you will never, never????

Anyone??

Thanks for the songs. Anyone with a ton of free time ant to burn some cd's? :rotfl2: (My favorite after the banana)
