Ok sooooo we are going to Disney for 7 nights in July. The first three nights are going to be 14th floor Contemporary king room, which we are really psyched. The last four nights were originally booked for BWI concierge, and then I switched to BC Concierge...but I'm still up in the air here. Part of the problem is that I am new to concierge--we have never done it before and so I am really looking for feedback and opinions on these three resorts and their concierge services. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

It's just me and my husband...in the past we've stayed at BWV, BCV and YC. We are big on room views and balconies...we like to chill out on our balcony and especially see the fireworks. We once had a BW view balcony and it was fun to people watch. Also looking forward to the food offerings of concierge. Not doing the dining plan this year so the little perks of concierge will be nice. Also, I've seen things on the lounge size, hours, and views...opinions? So I guess if anybody can provide feedback on which resort has the best service for what we are looking for it would be really appreciated!! I cannot make up my mind

Personally, I would go with BWI concierge. I stayed in BC concierge last November, and while it was lovely, our balcony view was nothing special. In fact, it was a terrace view of other balconies over a courtyard. Nothing wrong with it, we had a great time, but it wasn't one we'd especially request. We could see the fireworks over the second building, so that was neat. Still, it was nothing like some of the views that we've had from GF or what you can see from the BWI concierge lounge (much better view of the Epcot fireworks) the Poly's concierge lounge or the CR's 14th floor concierge lounge. The best BC view would be of the BW, I'm sure. You have seen it from the other direction if you stayed in a BWI Boardwalk view room. The lounge at BC was surprisingly small and didn't have a real view. As stated above, the lounge at the BWI overlooks the Epcot fireworks at night and it about twice the size of the BCs lounge. Plus, I think the rooms at the BWI are so much prettier. I just love the decor. I liked the BC but not as much as the BW. I like the change resorts just for variety but I would recommend the concierge level at the BWI over your other choices.

The food offerings are virtually identical at the Yacht Club, Beach club or BWI concierge. Same schedule, same snacks, only the hot food offerings slightly vary but they are food from the resort restaurants (in BC we had offerings from Yachtsman steakhouse and Cape may). I'm not sure which restaurants they are serving from at BWI but it was basically the same kind of food offered (a soup, some kind of chicken, beef or pork appetizer, etc). Concierge is so much fun :cloud9:

Leaving this morning for the BC - I have a Jr. Suite with Conciege. Will take lots of pics and bring back lots of info when I return! :cloud9:

Well my husband's big thing is the balcony and the view. We've been VERY fortunate on past trips with good views and now he is addicted to utilizing them. I did book BC Waterview Concierge...does that matter at all?? My other concern with BC is getting one of those lame standing balconies

I was just looking so forward to BC for the reason of using Stormalong Bay. We spent a whole day there one year when we were at BCV and it was one of the best days of our trip!! Seems everything I'm reading is screaming BWI!!!

I think the view from a Beach club waterview concierge room would be gorgeous, so not to worry. You might even still be able to see the Epcot fireworks over the buildings as well, but I'm not sure. We didn't have a waterview room (I guess I should have requested that! The BC/YC central office made the ressie and I didn't know there was the option). But I remember looking at that view across the lake and it was wonderful.

The food is not going to be anything less than what you'd have at the BWI, the main thing the BWI has over the BC or YC is the lounge which is about twice the size and has a view, whereas the YC and BC lounge areas don't really have views and are small. But if you have a great view from your room, I don't think its going to matter that much what you can see from the lounge.

I really like the Beach club so I didn't mean to come across so much against it--I honestly just prefer BWI but all of the Epcot hotels are nothing to sneeze at. I'd stay at any one of them. I have been looking into buying into a Boardwalk Villa, so as you can see, I'm a Boardwalk fan :cheer2:

The concierge level at the Beach club was on the fifth floor, and I don't think any of the fourth floor rooms offer concierge access and that floor is where the tiny balconies are. You might want to add you'd like a full balcony just to be certain but I did not see any fifth floor rooms with the tiny balconies at all. Yes, I loved SAB, too. I had lots of fun w/ my five year old son in it--it was a draw whether or not to go to the parks or stay around the hotel and swim and eat concierge snacks and/or visit Beaches and Cream...

Have fun :wizard:

ok, I have stayed at them all. I found the BC, room to small not to mention having to go to the YC for concierge....no thanks.
the BWI awesome spot, but I found the concierge not as good as the YC. much more selection at the YC. and much more attentive there also.
I also find the YC great because you are on the BW...but not RIGHT under its window...so you get the whole feeling with a little breathing space!

the best spot in the whole world....room 5221 YC concierge with a great view of France the BWI...and the fireworks we can see from the bed!

Actually I'm a BW lover at heart too, that's why this is so hard LOL I think any of them would be fine actually, but just curious as to others opinions!

So you are saying there is only one lounge for both Y/BC? You said you had to go to the YC for concierge?

Oh no, I'm sorry if I made it sound that way. There are two separate lounges--one for the Yacht Club which is on the YC side, another completely different one for the Beach club (both which you have to have a special key to get into from the elevator--the lounges are on the fifth floor and non-concierge guests do not have access to this floor). It's just that the offerings are the same for both lounges and the lounges are both much smaller than the one at the BWI. The one at the Yacht club is slightly larger than the BCs and each lounge carries on the according theme that is in the lobby. The schedule of lounge hours and offerings are virtually identical, however. The lounge at the Beach club was just about four doors down the hall from our room with the courtyard/ terrace view. ::MinnieMo

I have a ton of pictures somewhere. of all this...it wsa on this site at one time..I will see if I can find them. when I checked into the BC they brought us to the concierge floor, we had an awful small room with 2 full size beds NOT queen, and this was a water view....only a stand on porch. I had them call to see if I could get theYC, so we did not even stay. when I found out we would have to use the YC concierge for food! I hope they may have changed this.
I am gonna look for my links...so you can see the rooms and views that I had at all 3.

oh, ok....thanks!!! This information is very useful!!

Yes, they have definitely changed this (unless it was just that the BC concierge lounge was undergoing refurbishment when you stayed there) because there are two separate concierge lounges at the Yacht and Beach club and they are not interchangeable. That is to say, if you are staying in BC concierge you can only go to the BC concierge lounge, and if you are staying at the YC concierge, you can only go to the Yacht Club's concierge lounge. The two lounges themselves are not particularly close to each other...they are both on the corresponding (opposite) sides of the sister resorts areas. :grouphug:

yes. I do know this...see my sig...been to yc 3 times and BC twice...BWI & Villas

We just changed from YC Concierge to a BWI Garden Suite. One of the reasons we decided to change was because of the limited CL hours at the YC. One of the posters on this site emailed me after her YC stay in December stating that the YC CL has limited hours. They are essentially closed during meal changes and they don't offer afternoon tea. Also, the view from the balcony at YC CL is of the parking lot and main entrance and the lounge is kind of small. Here's a pic from Deb's site:

The BWI CL is open all day from 6:30 am until 10:00 pm so you can grab soft drinks and water all day if you would like.

When I was having trouble deciding, I contacted the concierge staff (same for all three - BC, YC and BWI), told them what I was looking for and they recommended the BWI.

DH and I are also traveling by ourselves and quiet is very important to us. We chose the BWI Garden Suite as it offers quite a bit more space and is quieter than some of the other rooms. We figured we could just go to the BWI CL if we wanted a view of the fireworks.

Sorry so long winded. Hope this helps!!

the BWI garden suites are I think the most romantic on property!! great chose!

disneyworld! I think the reason I was confused, and so was Ladyhawke is because in your first post you said
"ok, I have stayed at them all. I found the BC, room to small not to mention having to go to the YC for concierge....no thanks."
So she was just pointing out that it has changed in case you weren't aware ;)

Well it's still up in the air, but I'm leaning towards BWI. That's originally what I booked. What a problem right...gee which wonderful concierge should I choose? :rotfl2: I just know that the pros of BW (great views, full balconies, longer lounge hours, great lounge views, possible BW view for people watching) kind of outweigh the BC pros! Really, I just wanted Stormalong Bay for our pool day, but we never did spend a day at Keister Coaster, so that would be fine probably. *sigh*

Here's a thought....how come the Y/BC doesn't reconsider the deal with the lounge hours if it bothers everyone? Disney is usually so accommodating with guests. They seem to be the only resort with restricted hours. :3dglasses

I have never personally stayed in the Garden Suites at BWI and they LOOK adorable, however, I feel I must point out that there was a poster on DIS awhile back that said that they heard the sound of the dishwasher all night in hers because a wall was up against a restaurant (apparently) on the other side. Also, if I remember correctly she didn't like having to leave the building to go to the concierge room to her room and back. She thought it was easier when she stayed in the main building in the same area as the lounge--but it's all a personal thing I'm sure. I just wanted to pass that along that if I ever tried those (and I would love to since they look so cute) I'd be sure and request a quiet one.

I wish they would keep the Yacht and Beach club lounges open all the time...that would be more convenient. Stormalong Bay is great but I loved the quiet pool at the Boardwalk because no one ever seemed to be over there. It's kind of a trade off, I guess...stormalong bay versus large lounge at BWI w/ better view. I have to say that Beach club definitely had its own charm...I liked the Cape Cod theming, it was both elegant and relaxing. I'd have a great time at either location :cloud9:

Exactly my problem LOL

LadyHawke10 - Thanks for that note! I'll definitely add a note to my ressie requesting the most quiet possible.

Of the three, BC was the one I didn't want the most. I've heard it's more "casual" and louder than the other two and as I said before, quiet is a must for us. When we are in our room, we want to be able to relax as much as possible. I've even heard the lounge at BWI is more low-key than BC or YC so there is that as well.

So now that I have my ressie changed, DH isn't sure that he wants the Garden Suite. Anyone have experience with Concierge Deluxe at BWI? Are all of the views of the BW and did anyone have issues with the noise being on the BW side? Also, does anyone know if all of the Concierge Deluxe come with full size balconies and do any have King Beds? I sure will be happy when we finally make a decision because I'm going crazy with the choices!!! :sad2:

You feel my pain?? LOL Decisions decisions

Someone said in another post that all the Concierge Deluxe rooms have BW views actually. I don't think many people have noise issues. If you shut your balcony door it shouldn't be a problem. I think all are full size balconies, but not entirely sure, and I have no clue about the king beds!

The only rooms I've heard about being noisy on the Boardwalk are the ones above ESPN, but I don't know if its a consistent problem, just another thing I remember reading on the DIS. Almost everyone has reported no noise problems on those beautiful rooms above the Boardwalk :wizard:
