I returned to work this morning to a nightmare. An emergency faculty meeting was held just before the kids arrived. One of my students from last year (I had him, his twin sister, and older brother) was in a very serious accident yesterday. He fell from a treehouse he had built and was seriously injured. His future is up in the air at the moment because he was unconscious for a period of time. Please send prayers and pd to us and his family. We'll have another emergency meeting today after school.
UPDATE: Thank you all for helping by sending your pd and prayers. We received four updates today that surprised us! Although he was not expected to do well last night, he made a change for the better. As of this afternoon, he is off the ventilator and starting to squeeze hands and give a thumbs up to respond! I am beyond excited! To protect his and his family's privacy, I am not going to reveal his name here. However, please keep the prayers coming!!!! They're working!
UPDATE: I just wanted to let you all know that your prayers and PD are 100% working. He is off sedation and is beginning physical therapy! It looks like he should make a good recovery. Right now, though, he has pneumonia which they are thinking was caught from the breathing tube. He is talking and wants to go back to school.
Thanks so much all!
