My husband and I are going back to Disney World in September '09 for our 1 year anniversary! We got the free dining, so we upgraded to the DxDDP! Hooray! Now we can try signature restaurants!

We are staying for 5 nights, 6 days, and here is the game plan:

Arrival Day: Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner and our first time to the boardwalk at night!

MK day: CRT (if we can - if not we'll go with LTT or Crystal Palace) for lunch, Narcoossee's for dinner

Hollywood day: Sci-Fi lunch, Flying Fish dinner

Epcot day: DTD in the morning (wolfgang puck express), Rose and Crown dinner (for illuminations!)

AK day: Tusker house lunch, Jiko dinner

Departure day: CS breakfast/lunch at hotel (or DTD)

Does this sound feasible? Any recommendations or concerns I should worry about?

Thank you so much in advance!! :)

looks good to me...one thing I suggest is make sures there's at least 5 hours between your table service lunch & your table service dinner. You'll be full!

And use some of your snack credits for breakfast items at your resort counter service...you can get quite a few different breakfast-type items (pastry, yorgurt cup, fruit cup, etc) for a snack credit.

Thanks for the input!

I am going to try to make early lunch ressies (12pm-2pm) and late dinner ressies (8pm-10pm) so we can get the maximum food in our bellies! Also, we would like time in the parks, and we are definitely going to get small pastries or something for breakfast... we're not early morning people, will probably get up around 9-10am and grab something then off to our lunch ressies and the park for the rest of the day!

I see you are staying at Pop in Sept 2009 - I might see you there!! :)

Looks like you're going to be there at end of September...we'll be there at the beginning...have bounceback Free Dining & getting the birthday celebration gift card too:woohoo:

Pop had yummy chocolate chip croissants, apple turnovers, also good muffins, yogurt parfait cup and small fruit cups that were all just 1 snack credit each (in 9/2008) so hopefully they'll still be doing that in 9/2009!

I was actually trying to decide between Narcoossee's, Citricos and Artist Point - I have Narcoossee's only because of the surf and turf/lobster - yum! However, DH might looove Artist Point, and I've read Citricos is more serene than Narcoossee's...

Also, is CRT worth it for just DH and myself? I don't want to take away ressies from a little one that would rather be there... is LTT good? I would probably go with that over CRT to tell you the truth, unless CRT is fun for a young couple?

When we were on 12 day deluxe in August, we ate at the Yachtsman for my hubbies B-day. I really liked it - so did he. So that is a good choice. Other than that the only 2 credit place we ate at was CRT for breakfast. I am not sure how the lunch is there. I myself would go with Crystal Palace, it will have a lot more choices to offer since it is traditional buffet, where as LTT is a family style buffet of turkey and stouffers mac and cheese (this did not sound appealing to me) - plus if I have it right I believe that LTT will not longer have characters, but Crystal Palace is a great place to see Winnie and Pooh and Friends.- And a well decorated resturant I thought.
The only other thing I might mention is that I am not a fan of Sci-fi - very limited choices and just not our thing I guess. (I will say if you still go there- we got sucked in twice just because of the atmosphere)- be prepared for mediocore food IMHO. - I have heard that the 50's prime time is really great and we will try that one instead next time.

You know, I'm not really too excited about Sci-Fi either, but my husband is a HUGE sci-fi buff, so he is really into this whole thing. He was upset that we couldn't get ressies for our honeymoon (maybe we could... maybe I just TOLD him we couldn't.... tsktsk, bad me! ).

It's good to know that CRT might not be great for us - we went to Crystal Palace for dinner this past year and LOVED it, so we might just try lunch there, too! Are there any other good TS restaurants in MK besides the buffets? I haven't heard the best about Tony's or The Plaza... but there might be good opinions out there?

Thank you so much for your responses! :goodvibes

One of the places we didn't try was Tony's but we tried so MANY it seemed like lol !! I will say we LOVED the plaza for lunch - still alot of food but closer to a lunch serving than eating a big lunch buffet and then trying to eat a big dinner. I really liked the days where we had lunch in the park and then left to a resort for dinner. At the Plaza I got a cheese steak with steak fries ( I am a fry freak - and they were some darn good ones.) The only advice I will give on the plaza - is when making your lunch adr be mindful of the afternoon parade time. I didn't think of this - we were inside eating lunch and right outside fanfair and parade going by - I wanted to get out of my seat and run to the curb. My hubby and kids just kept on eating lunch !! Also be mindful of the parade because it may make it hard to get to the Plaza if the parade is going on. It was at 3:00 and I think we were eating lunch a little late that day. My DH got a burger and said it was great. My daughter loved it because they sprinkled confetti mickey heads on the table for DH's b-day, she scooped them off the table and put them in her purse. I still find about a mickey head a day somewhere in the house on the floor! They also had a great ice cream brownie sundae. I think because of us being on deluxe we got a choice of soup, chilli or salad.
One other place I would highly recommend is the 1900 Park Fare Cinderella Gala Feast at The Grand Floridian. The hotel is romantic in itself. The buffet for dinner was the best "adult food" buffet we ate at. Prime rib, turkey, salmon, pastas - dang getting hungry. The deserts - don't get me started !
When you get there you are greeted by The step-sisters - they were hysterical. Make sure you tell them you are celebrating when you book your adr and you will get some special surprises. It was my hubbies b-day - they gave him a cute placemat and crowned him - then he got to dance with Anastasia - we laughed so hard. My daughter got to dance the Waltz with Prince Charming - I will try and post some photos if I get a chance. Also the stepmother was dead on. My kids got out of the chairs - and she raised her voice and said "CHILDREN" - my 5 year old daughter stopped in her tracks and went back to her chair. I wanted to bring her home with me
Okay I better get back to the dreaded laundry - just booked our return trip in June - (my b-day this time) and I have been doing a lot of daydreaming !! We will be going for 11 days - and we are doing deluxe again - my kids loved the character breakfasts every morning.
:wizard:

That is so funny! We might do 1900 instead of CRT or one of the lunches at MK....

Or the Plaza...

or Columbia Harbor House...

Or Cosmic Ray's (a favorite!)

So many decisions! Thank goodness I have 9 months to plan this out!!! Hehehe
