I'm sorry, I know I can probably find this info out by looking through god knows how many posts/pages, but my tired head/eyes would really appreciate just a couple of quick answer to quick questions. We're going back for one last hurrah before our daughter -- who we started taking to Disney at 4 - turns 18 and leaves us for college. :faint:

Magic bands - are they not free anymore? (we booked a package through Disney for 4 nights)

Theme Park Reservations - I can't find the link to make a theme park reservation. Is this no longer a thing?

What's the deal with lightning lane/genie these days?

Magicbands are not free any more. If you have a resort stay, you can get a discounted price if you purchase them ahead of time, but it is a limited selection.

If you have dated tickets (and room/ticket packages include dated tickets), you do not need to make theme park reservations. Annual passholders and non-dated tickets still need park reservations.

Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane selections have been replaced by Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premium Pass. The time and date that you, as a Disney Resort guest, can purchase and book those is 7:00 AM Eastern time, seven days (one week) before your resort check-in date. You can book all your resort days (up to a 14 day max) then. The Disney webpage for Lightning Lane passes is here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/lightning-lane-passes/

The Disboards thread discussing them is here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/p...t-walt-disney-world-starting-july-24.3948850/

That is a very long thread. I'm not suggesting you read it all, but it is a good place to ask any questions you may have about lightning lane passes.

Magic Bands: no longer free :( there's a new MagicBand+ which is their new technology but apparently you can bring old MagicBands back as well (they're just not as good at picking up ride photos)

Theme Park Reservations: not needed if you have the regular dated tickets (most people). Still required if you're going with special tickets, e.g. military, convention, etc.

Lightning Lanes: now there are three options:
- Lightning Lane MultiPass (most similar to the old Fastpass+ system; includes most rides but not nighttime spectaculars/characters; allows park hopping after tapping into your first park)
- Single Pass (most popular rides in each park - Flight of Passage, Rise of the Resistance, etc.)
- Lightning Lane Premium Pass (just started Oct 30 and still in its experimental phase; currently for Deluxe resort guests only; you pay a premium but can use it once on any LL ride in a single park), all of which can be purchased separately either 3 days before for non-resort guests, or 7 days before your check-in day for resort guests. I would read a guide or watch a Youtube video on the new system because it does get pretty complex.
