I'm having a problem with this. Whenever I go on VMK and I notice someone who comes on Dis. I say: "Are you from the Site?" and they don't understand me . So what is our sign saying:
"Are you from Dis?" Please help me.

you can not say that on VMK people have ben banned for saying are you from Dis. Look at people signatures some say Dis. Others might say the green club. But if you ask me I would not say anything either I do not want to be banned.

having a code is just a way to get around the values. They don't want you to exchange personal info in VMK - even if you think it is harmless. So I suggest you go to the sticky on top that says "introduce yourself." You can look up VMK names there and see if the person is a member of the disboards. Good luck!

You should never ask someone if they're from a certain site. It's against VMK Values and can get you banned and get anyone who answers banned. You can do what a lot of DIS members do and put "Dis" in your signature on VMK. Nothing like "I'm on the Dis site" or anything...just "Dis." Dis members will recognize you as a member just by that alone. Personally I leave out "Dis" from my signature and I do not respond to any questions or comments about Dis.

I would strongly suggest NOT having a code and not ever mentioning any forums or external website. If you think a person is from here, look them up here dont ask them in VMK. It will eventually get you banned for sure.

Not to mention, the VMK staff read these forums, so they would be well aware of any code you had or what you were up to.

Just my opinion.

I usually just don't talk about the site on vmk. It's okay if you ask someone on dis there vmk name, but not the other way around.

Most long time DIS people did take the dis out of signatures (but not all). It was asked of a few people by staff for sure.

Its up to you really. DIS also is short for disney so I dont think its a huge issue. They will let you know if they have a problem with it LOL.

Keep in mind this is my opinion! Not like I have Yavn on the other line or anything ROFL! If you are worried about it, take it out. If you want to question it, use contact us. Many kept it in, and have not had an issue.

I had simply put "Dis" in my signature at one point but I got a warning from staff so I took it out. I wouldn't put it back again to try, just in case.

I have had dis in mine since I started here and never have been told but I also try to not make a big deal about it or talk there about it. I just pay attention to titles I recognize here from here. One way some have also dealt with it was saying I know you. VMK does not know how they know you or if you had met before in VMK so it seems to work ok.
