The Tag Fairy is very upset.

The Tag fairy contacted me tonite. They are very upset. They exist to bring joy and happiness and surprises to people.
They can't do that any more. The tag fairy has decided to go back to what made people happy.
They are going to surprise people, the way it was in the begining and the way it was meant to be. What that means is that if you ask for a tag you can expect not to get it. If you start clapping threads, begging threads, email, pm, instant message or telegram anyone...you can expect not to be tagged.
They ONLY way to be tagged is for the tag fairy to find you and surprise you.
Everyone should also realize that the tag fairy doesn't tag based on how popular you are. Usually it's a split second decision because something caught their eye.
The Tag fairy also asked me to say that they really hope everyone goes along with this. They really don't want to leave the Dis... but they may have to.... unless they can go back to bringing joy to people....

I've never really understood what the Tag Fairy was about.

How old is the Tag Fairy? Are you sure it's not just a case of mood swings? They have hormones for that. Or maybe including more tofu in the diet. (and if it is, I know she will not be amused).

Please tell the Tag Fairy to just run over to Beaches and Cream, eat a Kitchen Sink solo (ha!), then come back over here and try to complain about having a sore tummy. Better yet, tell the Tag Fairy to then try to fly over here and then complain about bringing joy to people. We can take care of that Tag Fairy, can't we?

I can understand this policy and I support it. Tag's from the tag fairy should be special, like a Test Track fast pass

As a newbie, I agree with ktulu that tags should be unexpected and special! One of my most fun moments of day comes when I log in, tag or no tag...if I ever get one, it'll be a fun surprise!

The Tag Fairy is a special someone(s?) who puts the tags - or messages - under people's user names... in color. (I've heard that you can put your own tag on, but not in color... I have no idea how to do this though?) They surprise people when they least expect it, and from what I've seen, it's usually in reference to something that person has posted in the past.

I always get a kick out of seeing the different tags... They never fail to put a smile on my face!
