Please read if you had chicken pox while pregnant

I had CP at beginning of 4th mo. and DS has always had horrible excema/allergies. I had to undergo a VZIG treatment , basically injections of cp to lessen the severity/fever. These injections left me unbelievable ill at the time. I had an average case of CP, and DS has rec'd the immunization as we don't know if he had them in utero or not. Has anyone else gone thru this? I am asking because allergist is wondering if there is a connection. Also DS has a high I.Q. but performs poorly at school and ped. is trying to see what explanation there may be as he has tested neg. for LD's. Just looking to see if any similar stories for any helpful info.

I read that receiving the VZIG treatment during pregnancy could possibly cause Hypoadrenalism (underactivity of the adrenal glands). It seems rare, but perhaps you could ask the doc about the possibility of this.

Wow Dandave...I would have NEVER thought the two would have any connection! Fortunately DS does not exhibit any of the symptoms listed but I am going to bring it up at next Allergist appt. I really appreciate your taking the time to post the article.
