This is our very first time to WDW and below is our fastpass plan. Please let me know if these sound good or if there is something that needs to change. Our party includes; myself, husband, my mother, and our 3 kids ages 9, 8, 5. We are staying off property at Windsor Hills so our 30 day window is fast approaching in about 10 days. Also, I'm thinking to start the fast passes around 10:30-11, does that sound about right?

MK Day 1:
6 Buzz Lightyear
4 Enchanted Tales / 2 Pirates of the Caribbean
4 Space Mountain / 2 Tomorrowland Speedway

Epcot:
6 Frozen Ever After (if unable to get we will test track instead) Whichever we don't get we will go right at rope drop
6 Spaceship Earth
6 Mission Space 4 orange, 2 green

Animal Kingdom:
4 Expedition Everest / 2 Finding Nemo
6 River Rapids
6 Safari

Hollywood Studios:
6 Toy Story Mania
6 Tower of Terror
6 For the first time in forever
We will do Rockin' Roller Coaster at rope drop

Day 2 MK:
6 7DMT
6 Big Thunder Mountain
6 Splash Mountain

So I'm assuming you are planning to get to the parks for RD each day, so you'll be able to hit 1 or 2 rides pretty easily in the morning.

For MK, you may want to consider swapping the 2 PoC for another Fantasyland ride such as Peter Pan or Under the Sea. Those rides get ridiculously long lines. PoC can too, but it has a much higher capacity so you can usually hit it without a FP+ relatively easy.

For DHS, what about Star Tours? Might want to consider that instead of the Frozen singalong.

Epcot is always the toughest. Only a few headliners and everything is so spread out. My guess is you won't get FP+ for FEA. Soarin might be a better use of FP+ here, though its really a toss up with Test Track in my book.

At AK, your picks seem pretty solid. Are you planning on doing RoL? If you are and don't have the dining package, you will definitely need a FP+ for that.

Best of luck!

Assuming your list is of attractions that you definitely want to do no matter what, then using a FP+ is a way to ensure that. Others may prefer to use them for other attractions, based on their preferences, but there is no right or wrong way. I am assuming you are planning to get to the parks early and then ride a while before using FP+, and thus why you are starting at 10:30-11 for the fast passes. If so, that sounds reasonable as by the time you are using your first FP+ the crowds and lines should be building.

Finding Nemo is a show that lasts about 30 minutes. Are the others not going to see the show?

My youngest isn't tall enough for expedition Everest so we were looking for something for her and my mom (who doesn't like coasters) to do while the rest of us ride.

At 30 days out - Frozen Ever After is going to almost impossible to get - at 60 days out, lots of fastpass windows were gone when I made my FP+ reservations.

7DMT is also going to be hard to get, and you're going to have to be open about what time - and let that drive your day, and plan around whatever time you may be able to snag. Also, as someone mentioned, Peter Pan is basically a must FP ride now, unless you can get on it at the very start of your day.

I want to also suggest when looking for FP for the hard-to-gets it may be to your benefit to break your group up when searching - it will always be easier to find a slot for 4 people vs 6 people.

If there are rides that you must do and it is a ride where waits can build, it's never a bad idea to FP it.

If your plan is ropedrop each time you go to the park, you can knock a lot of rides out in that first 90 minutes. Since you have 2 MK days planned - I'd suggest doing ropedrop once starting in Fantasyland and once in Tomorrowland. You can get multiple rides on Space Mountain and Buzz lightyear done at ropedrop.

I would also suggest looking at the thread about getting same-day fastpasses. You can see which rides are often available later in the day when you're in the park. I believe PoC and Buzz, both fall in that category.

The earlier you start your fastpasses - the earlier you can start trying for same-day ones. I always try to schedule them back to back, because once I tap in for my 3rd I can get on my app and start looking for a 4th.

Animal Kingdom, you can probably get away without a fastpass for Nemo - it is a high capacity show.

Pick you River Rapids time knowing that you may possibly be soaked. Personally, I hate to be wet at the parks. Only 2 of us ride Kali, I always try to book it as the last fastpass before we leave the park for a mid-day break.

Yes we are planning rope drop each day. I know many people suggest Peter Pan; however nobody in our party seems too excited about this ride. . . .

If it's your first time, it's worth a visit. A really classic Disney dark ride!

Nemo is one of the best shows (in my opinion) at WDW, it is worth seeing for all of you. There is a ride like Dumbo in Dinoland - sorry, I don't know the name - that may be a good alternative for your daughter and mom.

Peter Pan is one of my favorites. It is the only ride at Disney where the ride vehicle is suspended above the scenery.
