Pros and cons of each and which is better and why? We are 1st timers and will be me, DH and DD 14 Thanks

this is all opinions,which vary....
1-POFQ- it is small, lovely, and the best mod ever!
2-POR,sister resort to POFQ, next door, they share pool privileges and walkg trails along the river- but it's larger, and not as walkable-
love the ferry to DTD along the river with these places-

Agree that Port Orleans resorts are awesome. I had a Royal room for Thanksgiving weekend and it was delightful at Riverside in the fall. It doesn't even feel like you are in Orlando with the River and all of the large trees. But I guess a con is that it is not "beachy" and "florida-like".

I love the Caribbean Beach resort, BUT they really need to update it with Queen size beds. Full size beds are not as nice for families. We also had problems with the room not being clean enough. Never had that problem in other Disney properties.

Don't count out the families suites at Art of Animation if you have small children.

I have not stayed at any of the mods but I can tell you the things I do know about a few of the mods.

PRO- POR has a food court that is awesome (we have eaten there) compared to most Disney food courts and it also has a resort boat that goes to DTD (we have used this boat numerous times)

CON- CSR has motion sensors on the air conditioners and when nobody is moving around the room at night the air cuts off. From reports I have read you can get maintenance to come bypass the unit every 2 days to where it will stay on at night. Too much trouble for me. BUT CSR does have a good food court Pepper Market (IF YOU ARE ON the dining plan- OTHERWISE it is very expensive and you have to pay gratuities for CS meals)

PRO- POFQ is very small and even if you do not pay for a preferred room you are still close to everything.

PRO- POR has the longest pool slide on Disney property. If you have kids that might be a big perk.

CBR- CON it is a very big spread out resort and if you aren't in a preferred room you may spend a lot of time on buses getting around the resort or walking great distances. Also I don't much care for its' sit down restaurant but you can check the menu on Allears.

PRO- all mods...if they offer free dining you get the DDP sit down plan instead of the QSDP you get in the values.

It will be me my DH and DD age 14 and our 1st trip to Disney

If you want good information on POR & POFQ check out www.portorleans.org. The people that put that together did an amazing job & it helped us in planning our last vacation. We love POR & always choose a preferred room in alligator bayou for its closeness to everything. Have fun planning your vacation!

1. CSR - your daughter will love the main pool and slide and the arcade is at the main pool too.
2. POR - shares buses with POFQ
3. POFQ - shares buses w/ POR
4. CBR - full size beds as mentioned above

Only mod we have stayed at is CBR (4x) and love it! It's Me , DH & DD (5yrs), also have DS (18 months) so haven't stayed here yet with him.
We love the Caribbean landscaping, music, beaches & hammocks, main pool area, food court!
We have never had any issues with size, that's why we like it b/c it's so spread out you never feel that it has other guest! Buses have always been fine, no issues.

1. POR - great theme, large but laid out well which makes it easy to get around, slow seasons make the resort feel empty, best food court on property IMO

2. CSR - good theme, pools, doesn't share buses

3. POFQ - small which is good for some but makes it seem more crowded to me, room location isn't that important here

4. CBR - comes in last since it is in need of refurbishment, which I believe is happening now

1. POFQ- Smallest moderate, quieter, nice pool, beautiful, first on bus route, great beignets at food court! No cons

2. POR- Nice Pool, good food court, beautiful many pools. Cons: Large, many bus stops, after POFQ on bus route

3. CBR- amazing pool and slide, great theme, lovely. Cons: Everything is so spaced out. Maybe biggest resort in WDW. 7 bus stops, Food court far away.

4. CSR- good pool, good food court. Cons- honestly, nothing to brag about. Worst resort stay we've had. We paid for preferred room, still far away. 20 mins walk to pool. 4 bus stops.

2. POR- Nice Pool, good food court, beautiful many pools. Cons: Large, many bus stops, after POFQ on bus route

Yes the resort is large, but you have many choices of areas to stay. If you want close in you chose & pay for preferred room. Also we stayed there twice in April and only once did we share a bus with POFQ and that was mid afternoon when the buses were practically empty. There are several bus stops, but you can pick and choose where you get on depending on your room location or if you're eating at food court you hop on the bus out front.

We've stayed at CBR and really didn't like it. Resort was too huge for our liking. CSR is geared towards conventions. POFQ we took a carriage ride through it and the themeing and the buildings all felt too close to each other so we decided that wasn't for us. POR is our top choice! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

1. CBR - Beautiful grounds, awesome food court, great themed pool, very
laid back and relaxed atmosphere, every village has it's own bus stop,
beach and quiet pool.

2. POR - Nice grounds, okay food court, boat to DTD, Yeeha Bob, okay pool.

3. POFQ - Very small, feels like a hotel instead of a resort, boring pool
(according to DS10.

I will preface my opinion with the statement that I have stayed at all of the below.

1. POR The most beautiful landscaping on property. Boat to DTD, Yeehaw Bob in the Lounge, beautiful main pool, several quite pools, best food court. Access to amenities at POFQ.

2. POFQ Close to everything, Boat to DTD, nice main pool. access to amenities at POR

3. CBR Nice themed pool, several quiet pools, okay food court, pirate rooms available for those who might be into that. Too spread out for me.

I have only stayed at two mods so I will just rank them

1 CSR -great theme beautiful flowers and white sandy beach, great pool the biggest for the mods, soft comfy queen beds, Pepper Market

2 CBR - nice theme very pretty but long walk across bridge and little island to pool and food court,
Food court is weak
