Please, Quick Info for Ground transportation Needed Today

Hi fellow Dissers. I am trying to help my coworkers who are flying into MCO for a conference in Cocoa Beach. They work for the State and have been denied a rental car, so that is not an option at this point. (state) they have been told a taxi from MCO to Hilton Cocoa Beach would be about $45.00 one way. They hotel does not have a shuttle either.
Does Mears or any other ground have a shuttle that would cover Hilton Cocoa Beach?
If not, what would a Limo type service cost? They will need round trip transportation. They arrive next Monday.

I appreciate ll your help. I have my entire office thinking I am so educated about all things Disney & Orlando I tell them about the DisBoards and they think I'm crazy obsessed with Disney. Now let's blow their socks off with info that will help them. Thanks guys!

You don't indicate how many people will be traveling, but if they are looking for a towncar or limo service I would suggest they look at:

You can get a quote instantly on-line and if they are doing a round trip service, they can get a grocery stop on the way to the hotel for no additional charge

Mears' taxi fare estimator has the fare at $122 each way. Not sure where whoever's telling them it's $45 is getting that figure. It costs more to get to Universal.

This is an estimate, too. I checked Florida Tours' price round trip to Port Canaveral (not too far from Cocoa Beach), so the fare might be slightly different: $200.

Whoever's calculating what transfers should cost is WAY, WAY off!

There will be two folks. They will have to front their own $$ so perhaps a shuttle would be the most price effeciant. Are there any shuttles?

My mother is currently on a cruise. Got a town car to bring her from MCO to Hilton Cocoa Beach (but her pick up for back to MCO is at Port Canaveral cruise terminal). I would think Hilton Cocoa Beach wouldn't be much different.

Her total is: The price of the transportation service is $168.00 round trip, including Airport fees, tolls, and driver gratuity.

I agree you got a really bad estimate, unless they were estimating per person. The car service we use charges $120 one way from the airport to Port Canaveral, $210 for a round trip.

Assuming they will be putting in for reimbursement for the transportation (maybe a bad assumption, I don't know), the agency/office might want to re-consider the rental car option.

With a Google search, I found a shared shuttle option through Around the Clock transportation (never heard of them) for $80 per person one way. But their site looks like if you book for 2 people, it is only $70 per person, round trip. Again, I don't know anything about the company.

Mears offers shuttle service, too - I'd imagine it would be competitive with the company vicki_c found. See mearstransportation.com for more information.

Thank you for your help! I called Mears and they referred me to Cocoa Beach Shuttle's 800#. My coworkers is checking into that. Thanks for all your help.

We have used Happy Limo many times and always had great service. They offer a coupon on mousesavers.com too.

You can barely get outside of MCO for $45 in a cab! Definitely a mis-calculation for MCO to Cocoa Beach. 'I' think a car service or Mears shuttle would be a less expensive option than a cab. It's $45 in a cab one-way to I-drive, and $65 one-way to WDW resorts.
