Thanks for your reply. It's the only one I"ve gotten. I have tried the Disabilities board and gotten no concrete information from them either. I'm just going to have to wait until I get there and then investigate.

Have you tried going to one of the FAQ's threads for the All Stars over on the resort boards?? Maybe they would know more about that!

Have you contacted Disney's special info line for Guests with Disabilities? Here's the number - (407) 939-7807. I would think they could answer your question about the special access steps.

This is the link the Guests with Disabilities section on the WDW website - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/common/Plain?id=PlainHomePage#guidebook

I was digging around on the allearsnet.com site and found an article that listed the zero entry pools on property and, according to it, none are at any of the values.

I hope this info helps. I'm sorry that you are struggling with finding an answer. Goodl luck!

Anyone knows what the wilderness cabin pools look like hard to find images and also i heard they were updated the pool is that true or just a rumor?

I don't have any pictures, but I'm pretty sure that neither FW pool has been updated yet. Ask on the camping board - the regulars there are sure to know.:)

This thread is great. I'm hunting for information to see if it's going to work to get my ds who is severely disabled into one of the pools at the All Star resorts. I was told that one of them are zero entry but can't find evidence of that. Someone else told me that there was a spot in one where there is a wheelchair seat height set of steps that you could then go down into the water on. But, in all the pictures I've looked at I can't see that. Any more close up pictures of any of the All Star resorts? We're staying at All Star Sports in Sept. and I'd love to get ds into the water. But if it's not going to work we just won't offer that as an option. Thanks,

I know that at All Star Music there is a Wheelchair entry in the Guitar Pool (at the end - where the tuning pegs would be). But not at the "quiet" piano pool. I know that when you stay at any of the All-Stars, you can pool hop at any of the pools there. (Sorry I don't have any pics)

A few more from CSR, since I just happened to be putting them up on another thread.

In the concrete around the pool there were many 'drawings'.

This water sure does look inviting today!

Sorry I could not send you the Disney pool photographs, but I Promise you I will definitely send you the full album of the pools in Disney. Here are some good photographs in threads, you can see them.

There are no zero entry pools at the Value resorts.
I have not stayed at any of the AS resorts, but the information I have is that all the pools have a set of 'bump steps' (the actual name of them is a 'transfer tier', but 'bump steps' is more descriptive.
I have some pictures of bump steps, but had some trouble finding them. I was able to find one and I'll look for more. Here's a picture of the steps at one of the quiet pools at OKW.

This is looking at the steps straight from the back. The steps go down the side, just like a stairway.
They are most useful for someone who has good balance and good upper body strength.
The top step is the height of an average wheelchair seat. The person parks the wheelchair right next the top step, facing the water and then transfers from the wheelchair to sit on the top step. In this example, the wheelchair would be parked on the right side of the top step.
The silver handle on the left side of the step is for the person to use if they need it for support or to pull themselves onto the step. Once the are securely on the top step, the person bumps their butt down step by step until they are in the water.
Here's a website that shows a whole transfer tier.

Here are some pictures that we took at the Volcano Pool at the Poly in July 2008. Some were taken with our Canon Digital Rebel and others with a cheaper underwater digital camera. That underwater camera was the best investment we made for our trip!

DH underneath the waterfall in the Volcano Pool. You can get one heck of a neck/back massage standing underneath the falls.
