I have two and the first one has been mentioned alot already:

Our band director use to say this to us before every single competetion. I don't know if he made it up or if he heard it somewhere - but I always think of it.

Ah - the backstory for mine! It was in the movie The Program. They were sitting on trial for a QB who got kicked out of the school. They needed to reinstate him so he could play for the team. The school board was against it saying that the school is an educational facility, it does not revolve around football. The coach responded:


"YEA, BUT WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME 80,000 PEOPLE SHOWED UP TO SEE A KID DO A DARN CHEMISTRY EXPERIMENT"
