Hi! My name is Che'rie and I need drugs.......or at least a good smack up side the head. Why you ask? Well, despite all the warnings I've read here on the dis and my own personal experiences............I'm taking my mother in law to Disneyworld.

I know, I should really know better. I've always sworn that I wouldn't travel there with anyone but my dh and kids. I don't even want to go with my own mom who I get along great with. Basically, if I can't boss someone around.....ahem what I meant was.....I only want to go with those who see the genius of my ocd-ness and appreciate the year spent planning, the 4 a.m. calls to disney to book a suprise, the hours of second guessing my adr's. Basicaly, they need to agree that I am the QUEEN when it comes to the disney vacation.

Let me take you back a few months to where this trip began.................

My dh D.Jay started a new job and when he quit his previous job, we cashed out our stock options....none to soon, by the way. So, I was left with a nice little check and several options of what to do with it. I know the more logical was to put it in savings, but I don't think anyone has ever complemented me on my logic.;)

My first thought was a trip to England....we were sopposed to go last year, but due to our first disneyworld vacation ending with me in pain and a visit to the dentist, we chose to go back to the world as a "make up" trip.

As much as I'm dying to see England, the thought that I only have 3 more years worth of vacation before my oldest graduates made me feel too guilty about going. D.jay felt the same way and was just waiting for me to come to the same conclusion.

So, how did my mother in law come into the equasion? Well, I'm not even sure myself. :confused3 I just kept thinking that we should take her. She lives with us and we take her on alot of our trips, but DisneyWorld was just "ours". My mil was a single mom who raised 4 boys on her own. She never had money to go anywhere, so we took her to Disneyland 5 years ago, and she was as excited as our kids.
So I told D.Jay............"you're never going to believe this............but I think that we should take your mom with us".......

After he pulled himself off the floor, he agreed.

We asked the kids what they thought about taking Grandma, and they all liked the idea. We are suprising her on Christmas with the trip. She thinks we're just going on a road trip in Feb. I ordered her a shirt that says my 1st trip to Disneyworld, and D.Jay and the kids are going to make a video to tell her the news.

So, why the Prozac? Well, I'm going to be crammed into 2 small rooms with her for 8 nights. I get along fine with her and I do love her, but she just has a way of getting on my nerves. anyone gets on your nerves after that long.

So....if you're still reading and interested, this should be entertaining to say the least. Grab a drink and some popcorn:: and Please pass the prozac!

I am in !!!!

I can't wait to hear about taking you MIL to Disney. We are doing that in 2010 with our niece!
Yay!!! My first poster!! It's always a relief when some one replys, nice to know I'm not talking to myself!

I'm here -- I am so excited to hear this one! It should be a scream! :lmao:

You may hear me scream all the way from orlando!:rotfl2:

I told you Prozac takes 4-6 weeks to really work, you need something more immediate. :rotfl2:

LOL!! Your title completely grabbed me! I'm in! Can't wait to read more!

We've visited Disneyworld with my mother and my mother-in-law (on separate trips of course) and it is definitely easier without... however, I can't say it's ever RUINED a trip. In fact, sometimes it has been quite helpful to have a built in babysitter along for the ride.

This year we are hoping to sneak off on our own. :tiptoe: So far we haven't let the cat out of the bag, but our trip is still 5+ months away. We have a way of adding tag-alongs to our group without actually inviting anyone. :confused3

I am so in! This should be the most entertaining TR ever. I can tell you some stories about traveling with in laws but I won't. I will let you figure it out for yourself.:rotfl:
Seriously, I think it is great that you want to include her. It will mean a lot to her and your family. And us..it makes for some good reading.

I always enjoy your PTR/TR's so I decided to come out of hiding and say hi on this one

That is one of my worries!!! I'm a little afraid that once one of dh's brother's hears about it they will want to join us. They live in NC and could drive down. I love him and his wife but our vacation styles are so different. We've tried it a couple times and it's more stress than fun.

I am thinking we need to tackle your current lack of judgment. :rotfl2:

It's good that my, lack of judgment as Jenny calls it, is entertaining!:rotfl2:

Oh... I'm SO IN!!!!! popcorn:: I can't believe I get to be in from the very beginning! How exciting!

I totally want in the cool kids club! You guys are so funny! Here is a brief rundown of my new trip report addiction! First I wandered into the trip report section and randomly picked camelotcats trip report. Probably something in the catchy title about crush! In that trip report I learned about peeps and learned who Jordan was. So I found his TR and it was there that I was introduced to Flat Winkers! :rotfl2: So of course I had to go read the Winkers trip report... and that has led me HERE! :yay:

As far as bringing your mother in law... I think I can top you! I'm leaving in 9 days to head to the world with my MIL AND my MOTHER! Yep. Worlds collide! BOTH of them on the SAME trip! 16 people! :scared1: I'm hoping for the best because I actually adore my MIL. She is MUCH more easy going than my own mother... so I'm thinking if there is going to be drama... it will be from my side of the family!

I'd love to write a trip report... but I'm intimidated by all the wonderful trip reports I've already read!!! I'm not sure I can compete!!!!

You need to write a tr!!! That sounds like a soap opera waiting to happen! I know how addicting tr's can be!
