I'm the Mother in Law who is taking my grown sons, their wonderful wives, and our two little grandsons to WDW for a week in January. I hope my daughters-in-law have nothing but kind things to say. However, in reality, I am sure I drive them crazy. I'm kind of a "diva" grandma. Oh well. My husband and I are giving them the trip, all expenses paid, including dining, etc. They will have their own rooms at the GF. I hope we all have a good time, but I'm sure, if you asked them, they are stocking up on drinks.

OMG - adopt me, too! What a wonderful, generous trip you are planning! You kids better never say one bad word about you!

Your MIL picture is priceless. I just hope see never sees it on the boards! It is highly unflattering, but I can relate, since my own mom could use her own episode of "what not to wear" (Love that show - BTW)

You are very sweet to take your MIL. As for that Prozac - you definately won't cry or lose your temper while taking it. Just don't wait too long too before starting it! You might need the full therapeutic effects!

The Plan.....keeps changing...



After the momentous decision to bring MIL with us, it was time to pick our resort. We would be too big for the family suite at ASMU, so we were looking at 2 rooms. The kids wanted to stay at a different resort so, we decided on Pop. D.Jay and I had stayed there on our alone trip.

The bad thing about having too much time between making your decision and booking the package is you think....and think....and think. So, as I'm thinking I realized that we could afford a moderate resort this time. I'm sure that as soon as that thought struck me, D.Jay had a lightning bolt sort of pain zing through is pocket where is wallet should be.

I ran the numbers and when D.Jay got home I showed him my new plan..we'd stay at CBR. He gave me his usual....as long as we can afford it...answer. I was so excited.

I called and booked 8 nights at CBR. I was so excited!! The resort was going to be a suprise once we got there, but I couldn't keep my excitment to myself! I showed the kids pictures of the resort and the new pool! They were pshyched!


In my searching the boards I ame across the Feb code watch..............what????? You mean I can get a discount??? How have I missed this before?
I began checking that thread religiously. There was alot of speculation as to when and how much the discount would be.
I went to Ohio for a week, and drove my family insane with my checking for a "code". My sister has dialup so it takes 30 minutes just to log on!


Then, the morning came that there was buzz about a HUGE discount that should be released. I was like a monkey on crack checking the boards...then someone said it would come out at 5 p.m. the next day.
I was like a kid waiting for Santa Claus.it was all I could think about....

I couldn't sleep that night because I was excited and I new I had to be up at 3:45 am to book a suprise.........

I was on the phone at 4 am. sharp and got what I wanted!

I spent the rest of the day checking the boards.......around 3 it was leaked that the deal would be buy 4 get 3 free plus a $200 gift card!

I called at 5 sharp and after a 45 minute wait I got a CM. Only problem was there wasn't any rooms left at CBR, so I switched to POFQ. And I save a little over $1,000!

You will love POFQ! We adore it there! It's smaller than the other moderates so it has a very quiet and peaceful air about it. Don't forget that you are also allowed to use the POR pool and everything since they are considered sister resorts. I will even post some photos for you to drool over:

Your kids will love it, too. There is an arcade and kind of a Mardi Gras atmosphere -- the CMs like to hand out Mardi Gras beads --in the evenings there is live jazz played, and there is a boat that goes to Downtown Disney. The pool area is lots of fun with alligators that spray water. It's not quite like CBR with its new pirate pool, but that $1000 savings is hard to argue with.

I can't believe I didn't find this until page ten. So, you are bringing your MIL. I should come meet up with you and bring Aunt Betty. I bet we would have a blast. I really do wish we were going in Feb. Dh is making us go to Tennessee. I know it will be a fun vacation but I want to go to Disney World.

Okay - I jsut had to post - finally had time to read so far what you have written and I loove this...

I think God gave us the same kids...

Same birth order...same type of personalities...I wish we could be travelling at the same time but we may wake up with only one eyebrow while our daughters shave the other one off...our youngest boys laugh at the hilarity of it all and our oldest son's would be looking up the numbers for a good plastic surgeon....

I am in as well...and wish like heck you have a good time...

I am glad I am here and only can start repaying you for laughing with my families quandries..which reminds me that I needto add some more funny stories to mine today...

I've been a "here and there" lurker on your other TR but couldn't bring myself to join in on the fun after 1,000 comments were already up. So I guess you can say I'm starting early as it's a PTR. Ok. The monkey on crack thing That was me too!! We were able to change our ressie for Jan around, rooms only 1/3, package starting 1/4 staying until 1/11 courtyard view bunkbed room at WL! We were originally leaving 1/9. So we got 2 1/2 extra days and saved approx $1550! Including the $200 gift card!!!! YIIIPPPPEEEE!!!!!!

So glad for your discount!! You AND you kids will love the POFQ and POR resorts. I wasn't sure if we would but we did have a lot of fun there. Be sure to head over to POR one evening and check out the piano guy at the river roost lounge. It's a great comedy act that EVERYONE can get in to! We only caught the tail end of it on the last night of our trip. We may try to head over there this trip just to check out the full show. There are also other activities around the resorts. At the POR pool we walked through one day and they had a poolside Bingo game going on. Plus, with the marina and water taxi to DTD, there is plenty to do without getting bored around the resorts. We also took advantage of the horse drawn carriage ride around POR. ($35) And also the surrey bikes are a LOT of fun!
