Please pardon my ignorance...DDE question

I have read about the DDE option on the disney web site and a little here, but I have one question. It seems that you add DDE to a MYW base ticket. What about AP holders? We are getting AP's for our upcoming trip in June. How do we add DDE? And how much does it cost to add, btw?

Nevermind...just did a search and found the answer I was looking for. DDE is a discount card, I was getting it confused with the Dining Plan. In any case, I think I understand!

You got it right. The DDE will save you with family of 10 last May saved over $600 in 5 Days.

Right, the Disney Dining Plan must be added to a MYW room package. If you have an AP, you have to buy at least a 1 day MYW pass to get the package with dining, unless you are a DVC member with a points reservation.

DDE is only available to Florida Residents and AP holders.

I have another DDE question. We are buying AP's for the first time this year. Since we are not AP holders now how do we go about getting the DDE card? Wouldn't we have to give our AP number or something to prove we have them? Please forgive me if this question is stupid. I'm a bit confused over this. LoL

You will call the DDE number to order and yes you do have to give your number to verify you are an actual passholder.

If you want the DDE in advance, you would have to order an AP voucher either off the website or by phone. After you receive it, you can call DDE and give them the number off the voucher. If you wait to buy the AP at WDW, you would have to call from there and pick it up outside Epcot (Monday to Friday).
