Web Searches Revealed in Anthony Case

Someone performed Internet searches for "neck breaking" and "household weapons" on the home computer of a Florida mother charged with killing her missing 3-year-old daughter, according to court documents released Wednesday.
The Orange County State Attorney's office released almost 800 pages of discovery documents in the case of 22-year-old Casey Anthony, who has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other charges in the June disappearance of her daughter Caylee.

In mid-March, someone used the Anthonys' home laptop to search Google and Wikipedia for peroxide, shovels, acetone, alcohol and chloroform. Traces of chloroform, which is used to induce unconsciousness and also a component of human decomposition, were found in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car during forensic testing, the documents say.
Caylee has not been seen since June, but she wasn't reported missing until a month later. The child's grandmother first called authorities in July to say she hadn't seen Caylee for a month and her daughter's car smelled like death.
Anthony told authorities she had left her daughter with a baby sitter in June and the two were gone when she returned from work. Documents traced the unsuccessful efforts of investigators to find the woman.
Anthony says she spent the next month trying to find her daughter and didn't call authorities because she was scared. Investigators say they have poked several holes in her story.
Other information depicted in the documents includes:
— Text messages in which Casey writes, "I am the dumbest person and the worst mother. Honestly hate myself," and calls Caylee a "little snothead."
— In an instant-message exchange with a boyfriend who calls Caylee an expletive for wanting more lunch, Casey responds, "Ha. Ha." She follows with "I'm pretty vicious."
In a later exchange, Casey writes, "You know what you're getting into with me, and I'm sorry, Caylee has to come first."
— E-mails from Rick Pleasa, brother of Casey's mother Cindy, in which he calls her support of Casey "ignorant and intolerable" and suggests she get psychiatric help.
"I would believe in the tooth fairy or ET or Santa before I trusted and believed in Casey," he also wrote.
— Interviews with more than a dozen friends and relatives of Casey who said they never met the babysitter who was supposedly staying with the child.
Todd Black, a spokesman for Casey Anthony's attorney Jose Baez, said the standard procedure for defense attorneys was to review discovery documents for a few days before commenting.
Later Wednesday, Circuit Judge Stan Strickland denied a prosecutor's request for a wide-ranging gag order. Strickland ruled the state did not prove that national TV appearances by Baez and other comments in the media would sufficiently prejudice the jury pool.
"Even with a gag order the publicity and media attention would continue unabated," Strickland wrote in his opinion.
Strickland said attorneys on both sides already are bound to a Florida Bar statute prohibiting comments that are false or would otherwise taint the jury pool.
The gag order would have not only affected prosecutors and defense attorneys, but Orange County Sheriff's investigators and Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy.
"Given the fact the prosecution has been leaking information almost nonstop for months, a gag order wouldn't matter at this point," Black said.

What the hell is Cindy playing at?

Remember: this is the same woman who, on learning that evidence suggested there was a dead body in Casey's trunk, insisted there must have been a different body in the trunk. When I heard that, my knee-jerk response was, "Jeez, lady, if you're trying to help your daughter, you're doing it wrong."

Didn't she also wash Casey's clothes she was wearing when Casey told her Caylee was missing? I think she's done alot as far as covering up things in the investigation.

Worse. She washed the clothes of Casey's that had been sitting in the trunk after it was finally opened. And George threw out the garbage that was in it (the garbage that was first blamed on the odor that was later attributed to dead squirrels) and scrubbed the inside of the trunk down.

The whole immediate family is trash. Even with the flimsy circumstantial evidence the state has now, I think they could get a conviction. Everybody thinks Casey is guilty. If the dad(or stepdad) sexually molested her, that
could mitigate things in her favor-IF she comes out and tells the police. However, there are millions who have been abused and don't kill their children.

BTW, Cindy better worry about being arrested. If she's playing around with evidence and making both the police and FBI look stupid, they'll come gunning for her.

At this point, I'm almost hoping they all get charged with something & the judge forbids all of them from profiting on the story. THEN, I would watch the movie version because this is one messed up story for sure.

Ya know, I have said this to my DH since the beginning....Caylee is the product of Casey and Lee- he IS the father. I also believe that Casey was abused by her dad and I will continue to beleive that until proven otherwise.

And the previous poster is correct, this is the dirty little secret Cindy is trying so hard to keep hidden.

I personally think the baby is Lee's, hence the name Cay-LEE. I think George did abuse her at some point in time though.

Re: Casey and Lee. I have seen some close brothers and sisters in my time, but they seem to have a "very" close relationship....from what I have seen in pictures and on TV. He was probably under her spell too.

This is the only conclusion I can come to that would justify why the baby's father is not known, the "car accident" (no proof) of the supposed father and Lee refusing to submit his DNA for testing.

If she slept with him with no pressure then that is sick.

I wish the truth would just come out as im fed up of speculation and trying to read into all the documents and just guessing what has happened etc.

This is just a total nightmare. I can't imagine being anyone involved in the prosecution or defense of this case.

If Casey is like any of the women you see on shows like Maury its possible that she doesn't know who the father of her child is, why assume because her daughter is called Caylee the father is her brother he can't be the only man in the country called Lee. Also why accuse the father of incest? I mean that woman who shot her three children and claimed that a heavy bearded man accused her father of abusing her then retracted it it seems to be a common defence so she could be lying.

I agree with all of this. I mean, this girl has all these guys, why put the family into it too? The name Caylee probley came from Cindy naming the kid cause Casey didnt even want her.

My biggest beef is WHY DIDN"T LEE SUBMIT TO DNA TESTING if he is innocent??? And why is HE protecting Casey so much?? I truly believe he has alot to do with this case.
