Since the DIS is so big I thought I'd post this picture in the off chance that someone has seen this missing little girl from Orlando. Her mother didn't report her missing until a MONTH after she vanished, so she could be anywhere :sad2: :

The story behind this is very strange, and on TV the mom acts really nonchalant about the whole thing.

A trail of lies and unanswered questions today surround the disappearance of a 2-year-old girl reported missing by her mother more than a month after she vanished.

Cindy Anthony, the child's grandmother and the one who contacted investigators Wednesday, is hopeful that her smiling granddaughter with hazel eyes and light brown hair is safe and will be returned.

But she can't explain the lies her daughter told family and the authorities.

In early June, Casey Anthony told her mother she was being sent to Tampa for work and would be back in a few days, and later said she was going on a "mini-vacation" with friends. Cindy Anthony never thought much of it.

"I had no reason to believe they weren't where they were supposed to be," Cindy Anthony said. "I don't know why she fabricated this."

Casey Anthony told detectives she dropped Caylee off at a baby sitter's house June 9, but that the child was not there when she went to pick her up.

She did her own investigation, she told detectives. She went to clubs that the baby sitter, a woman she identified as Zenaida Gonzalez, is known to frequent. She said she was afraid her daughter would get hurt if authorities got involved because she had seen that happen in movies.

Investigators discovered that the apartment Casey Anthony said belonged to Gonzalez had been vacant for nearly five months. Detectives later located Gonzalez, but she did not recognize the mother or daughter from pictures.

Deputies showed Casey Anthony a picture of Gonzalez and she admitted not recognizing the woman.

She told deputies she worked at Universal Studios and named people who could vouch for her. When deputies drove her to the theme park, officials confirmed that neither she nor the people she mentioned worked for the park. Still, she "walked with purpose and acted like she knew where she was going," the sheriff's report shows.

Friends described Casey Anthony to deputies as a "habitual liar" who once stole $700 and checks from a friend. She also told a former boyfriend on June 25 that she would be free to get together because her daughter was "with the nanny and that they had gone to the beach for the weekend."

When questioned by deputies, Casey Anthony did not "show any obvious emotion as to the loss of her child….she continued to claim ignorance and at times, laughed about the situation," according to an arrest report.

But her mother insists Casey Anthony has been a good mother.

"Like everyone, [Casey Anthony] has good and bad days," her mother said.

The family has set up four MySpace pages with the hopes of someone finding Caylee.

"To hear her say 'I love you...'" her grandmother said, her voice beginning to break. "This little girl has been the light of my life for the last three years."

An Orange County judge denied Casey Marie Anthony bond this morning, saying she showed "no regret or concern for her actions" following the disappearance of her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony.

Despite Casey Anthony's lack of a criminal history, Judge John Jordan elected not to release her.

Casey Anthony, 22, just nodded as Jordan offered his comments.

"You left your 2-year-old child with a person who does not exist at an apartment you cannot identify and you lied to your parents about your child's whereabouts," Jordan said. "You cared so little about your child."

Jordan ordered that a mental health evaluation be conducted on Casey Anthony and that she have no unsupervised contact with a child under the age of 17.

Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Casey Anthony Wednesday on suspicion of child neglect, providing false official statements and obstructing a criminal investigation.

Since the arrest, Casey Anthony has weaved a tale of lies that have left investigators with little information and her family puzzled over the deception.

Orange County detectives worked through the night to track down the missing girl, said Capt. Angelo Nieves.

"At this point there is no indication that [Caylee] is deceased," Capt. Angelo Nieves said. "We don't know where she is. Our concern is for the child and to locate her."

Authorities have not issued an Amber Alert for the girl because the information they have does not meet the criteria, Nieves said.

:guilty:

I cannot help but go back to your original post and look at her sweet face and think about Caylee and take this from the beginning, again.

Re-reading your original post, there were so many lies and so much deceit (by mom and grandma), even from the beginning :guilty:

He said in that interview that he actually pays nothing. He only has to pay if she disappears, which he has no intention of letting her do! He will have someone with her 24/7. And if she does escape them, he has 90 days to get her back before he has to pay.

You only pay 10% of the bond to get someone out so he is only paying $50k, not $500k. He does have to pay it (well his bondsman has to pay it). He is the bounty hunter that will make sure she appears in court. He loses it if she doesn't appear in court. He gets it back in the mail after there is a disposition in the case. I've paid a bond for someone before.

I missed that.

Do you really think she sold her though? How do you go about finding someone to buy your child? :confused3

It probably isn't as hard as you might think, especially for a woman desperate to have a child. I have thought about many "different" routes to becoming a parent and have found many of them to be illegal.

I read an article recently where a couple had their baby for sale on E-bay, it happens.

I dunno, but being that she has no money, I don't know that she "sold" her. Maybe just gave her away? Along with the carseat? They said on NG that the tip that was released early on about someone spotting her at the Orlando Airport was never verified. I still wonder if they went through ALL the tape to just confirm.

Where was the info about the carseat?

I would guess that if Caylee died in her carseat (the theory that she left her in the car while she was out partying) that Casey would have disposed of it as well.

As much as I would love to believe that Caylee is alive out there somewhere, my gut tells me she met some terrible fate at the hands of her mother and her remains are in some remote area and may never be found. :sad2:

I do remember hearing that but I don't know who the tip came from.

I think Caylee is no longer with us either. I think the mother would have told someone by now if she sold her, the charges would be much less on her than murder charges and I'm sure someone along the way explained that to her too.

My gut tells me that somehow this poor angel died.Either Mom accidentally left her in the car or she drown or Mom lost her temper, somehow this little girl died and Mom was to scared to call the police to report it. I think all the phone calls to her Mom and Dad were frantic ones. I think she was trying to get a hold of someone so they could tell her what to do. When she didnt reach anyone she backed the car into the driveway, borrowed a shovel from the neighbor and buried her. I want to believe that she sold her or gave her away but after all this time I think she would have contacted the person so they could come forward to testify that her daughter is alive. Who knows, maybe if they charge her with murder she will finally break and tell the truth.

And do not forget, she has said that Caylee is close to home.....:sad1:

I did not read this whole thread but was in Orlando for the last two weeks and saw the grandad driving the billboard around. Honestly, this has been a show if you ask me. The billboards on I -4 have photos of her too. Media coverage is wide. Lets face it, if she sold this child, the child is now a blond with short hair NOT a brunette with long hair so the photos do nothing except keep her in the public eye. What mother makes remarks to the effect that it is all about Caylee and what about her. God if it were my child I would not be able to function much less go partying .I hope this child is alive but I am betting the farm that she is dead. TWO cadaver dogs and Caseys mom say they smelled decay in the car. If she did kill this child then I think that hopefully Florida will find her gulity and give her the death penalty.

I also wonder about the name Cay(Casey) Lee(brother). Just wondering what the connection is there. I guess with this case the mind wanders because the grandmother was adament that the young Hispanic man who died last year in the auto accident was NOT the father. Then who is? Is he somehow mixed up in this? Who knows? I just want her to come home and the grandparents to get a restraining order for the mom NEVEr to see her again!

That hispanic that died did not have children. Grandma said on Greta that Caylee's bio dad had a family of his own. Maybe he was married who knows?

I never made the name connection but the thought that Casey's dad or brother is the father crossed my mind.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that was thinking this.:sad2:
It certainly is one strange family.

This is from the Orlando Sentinel. It just makes me so sad and sick to my stomach that she is going to get out. :sad2: :sad1:

Casey Anthony remains at the Orange County Jail this morning because her bond has not been posted.

Leonard Padilla, a California bounty hunter, has been in Orlando since Sunday, trying to get the 22-year-old out of jail.

She hasn't had any visitors outside of her legal team and has not made any phone calls, according to jail records.

Rob Dick, another bounty hunter working with Leonard Padilla, said that they are working toward Anthony's release today and it could come as soon as this afternoon. Bondsman Tony Padilla is working on paperwork this morning and finishing "dotting the i's and crossing the t's," Dick said.

Dick said he and Padilla will also provide security for Anthony and her family once she is released.

Anthony's get-out-of-jail card comes as a California bounty hunter who talks tough with a toothpick in his mouth, wears a black cowboy hat and promises to put up $50,000 of his own money to post bail.

Padilla wanted to get Anthony out of the Orange County Jail on Monday, but the mother of missing 3-year-old Caylee Marie had to wait at least another day.

Her attorney, Jos Baez, had to finish last-minute details about her court-ordered electronic monitoring for her release, Padilla said Monday after a nearly two-hour meeting with Baez.

Baez did not return phone calls or an e-mail Monday.

Today marks Anthony's 34th day in jail, where she is kept in a cell isolated from other inmates. The 22-year-old is charged with child neglect and filing a false statement with law enforcement.

"A month in jail is like two years on an island. It's horrible," Padilla said. The bounty hunter from Sacramento flew into Orlando on Sunday night with his nephew, Tony Padilla, a bail bondsman.

Leonard Padilla is backing the 10 percent needed to post Anthony's $500,200 bail. He's doing this because he wants to find Caylee.

"I don't think the little baby is dead. I think the baby is alive, and we can find her," he said. "But the person who has to give us the information is the mother."

After Anthony is released, Padilla said he and his group plan to take her to the east Orange County home of her parents, Cindy and George Anthony. That's where she will stay on home confinement and be monitored with an electronic device. He said the family will allow a bounty hunter to stay at the home and keep an eye on her.

Padilla said with his 33 years of bounty-hunting experience, he thinks he can get Anthony to open up about her daughter.

Once she feels the comforts of home, takes a hot shower and gets a chance to "paint her nails," she might be more willing to talk.

"We are not cops," he said. "We just want to find the baby."

As her attorney and Padilla worked on her release Monday, Anthony rejected a visit from her parents at the jail. The Anthonys rescheduled their visit for 9 a.m. Thursday. Brother Lee Anthony has a visit scheduled for noon Saturday.

Hmmmmm. I wonder if Casey will really give more information once she is more comfortable at home. Somehow I doubt it.

Can the bail bondsman change his mind and revoke his bail money if he is not satisfied with Casey's behavior or level of cooperation once she is home?

Denae

My guess is Casey does not know 100% who the father is.
Saying it was a guy that died in a car wreck is an easy way out.

There was a post a while back that mentioned the airport.

Even if they were at the airport and the baby was sold, she sure couldn't fly away with someone. Isn't there security and they would need birth certificates and proof of parenthood right? If she did sell her and all the paperwork matched then that would mean it was something that was pre-arranged for some time before the transfer occured.

I still think that the poor little thing is dead. I didn't know the car seat wasn't found in the car...maybe that is what was burned.
